But not any more, for the manufacturers have eventually come up with their slim doze to the market with the Sony Ericsson W880i. Measuring just about 9.4mm thick and weighing a mere 71g, the Sony Ericsson W880i also poses as one of the slimmest 3G handsets in the market.
Besides being really slim and compact, one of the reasons why Sony Ericsson W880i has created ripples, is its super capacity for storing tracks. The handset comes with 1GB of memory card that lets the users to store up to 240 sound tracks. Other music features of the phone are very much like others under the Walkman genre. The Sony Ericsson W880i comes with a good music player, supporting all popular formats like AAC, AAC+, eAAC etc. Further, options to mix, remix and edit the tracks, comes easy with features like Music DJ, PlayNow and MegaBass. Another useful feature of Sony Ericsson W880i is the TrackID. More doze of music comes with a FM radio, that can also support visual radio. The FM radio automatically scans and programs up to 20 presets and grabs radio data system information from stations, that digitally broadcast their names and call letters. And as far the internal memory is concerned, the phone offers 16 MB of memory.
Besides music, the Sony Ericsson W880i comes with 3G, plethora of messaging options, integrated web browser, Bluetooth, infrared and many PIM features.
On the flip side, the Sony Ericsson W880i comes with a small keypad. The number and letter keys on the keypad are very difficult to press, as the key size is small and they are placed far apart. The four-way navigation key is also small, so one tends to press the wrong side of the button.
