Nokia 6300 - Simplicity Rules

By: Alice Erin

After launching many hi-end phones, Nokia finally brought out a neat nugget to express their magic of simplicity. The new handset, the Nokia 6300 is quite a substantial handset that brings forth an impressive blend of form and functionalities. It is one of the most tactile phones in the todays mobile market and surely impresses the users with its usability.

There is nothing flamboyant about the Nokia 6300, yet it makes a good statement in front of its users. Unlike the heavy cheap plastic phones, the Nokia 6300 comes in a slim candy bar design with external layer wrapped in stainless steel. This not only makes the phone very stylish but also provides a satisfying sense of solidity, when held in hands.

For easy navigation, the Nokia 6300 includes a sensibly-spaced four-way rocker switch and Enter key, While the keypad is large enough for heavy-duty texting. The screen is also large and the icons and messages are perfectly legible.

Nokia 6300 is designed to be a user's delight. Most of the Menu options are within one or two clicks, and there are not too many vertical menus to scroll through. Further, most of the features that are regularly used can be activated by moving a certain direction on the four-way rocker.

For satisfying multimedia functionalities, Nokia 6300 offers 2-megapixel camera and music playback. The player supports all popular music format and comes with an integrated FM radio as well. One of the appreciated feature of Nokia 6300 is its Push to Talk feature. With this, one can simply get connected to the compatible sets and turn the device into Walkie Talkie. The only problem here is that one has to go through a very convoluted sign-up process for getting started.

Nokia 6300 surely represents an evolution of the modern monoblock design and ergonomics. As said by Kai Oistamo, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Mobile Phones, Nokia, "Like an impeccably tailored suit, the Nokia 6300 is perfectly proportioned, always in style, but best appreciated for its attention to detail."
