Christmas gift giving this holiday season doesn't have to be hard. Some gifts are great Christmas decoration's and they may be worth money some day if taken care of. For example, collecting Steinbach nutcracker's has been a favorite pastime for many people since the 1950's. It all really began after World War II when American soldiers had seen the many German nutcrackers available at the open markets. Nothing like this was even around in the Sates at this time. The Steinbach company has been the leading manufacturer of nutcrackers and smoker since it began to get popular here in the United States.
Unfortunately, Christian Steinbach recently passed away and now his daughter Karla Steinbach runs the business. She run's it with the same passion Christian did for so many years. This is also why many of the older pieces are gaining momentum as very popular to collect. Especially the more unique ones with the late Steinbach's signature on the bottom. Not many other collectibles have the kind of staying power these little treasures have and for good reason. It can take upwards of seven days to complete each piece which is handmade in Germany. Every one of the nutcracker's or smoker's is truly one of a kind. This is a great time as any to get into the great fun of collecting Steinbach. Whether its for Christmas decoration's, a birthday, or just because, you really can't go wrong with these works of art. Nobody know's how much the older pieces will gain in value, but the fun is just owning a real piece of history.
