Samsung's latest and the greatest slider phone, the Samsung U600 is yet another striking slim device. Much thinner than many of the thin handset available in the market, the Samsung U600 boasts of a plethora of features crammed into a handset, that measures just about 11mm in thickness, and weighs a mere 81grams.
Given its size, the screen of Samsung U600 sure makes a big impression. The screen is 34mm wide by 45mm tall, and offers good readability. It also features a useful sunlight mode to optimise the screen's contrast. Beneath the screen are two touch-sensitive soft keys, a mechanical four-way navigation key and touch-sensitive send and end call keys.
When it comes to features, the Samsung U600 sets a benchmark for others to follow. Among other things, the most notable features of this handset are its 3.2-megapixel camera on the back, a powerful MP3 player, an FM radio, stereo Bluetooth (A2DP) and a Web browser. The camera comes with auto focus and LED flash. Sad, there is no xenon flash to replace the side effects of blue tinge created by the LED photo light. But one of the novelty that the camera of Samsung U600 offers, is its ability to take pictures of business card, with its Namecard Recognition Service.
The music player of Samsung U600 is quite competent as well. It can play many formats including MP3, AAC files and protected Windows Media files. Further, one can shuffle or repeat, rate individual tracks, create playlists and adjust the equaliser.
The internal memory of Samsung U600 is about 60 MB, which is very less for die hard music fans. So, Samsung had left provision to pop in a microSD card (up to 2GB) to store around 200 tracks. The microSD card can also hold all your photos among other things.
Last but not the least, one more enhancement that Samsung U600 comes up with, is its user friendly interface. Now the overall user experience easier and more straightforward.
