We can think about all the fun things that you are going to be able to do with your new puppy but what you really need to be focusing on is that Pug potty training is something that is extremely important and it does need to be taken care of right away. If not, you could end up with a lot of mess on your carpets and if the problem is allowed to carry on for too long, you will be looking at dishing out some big bucks to completely replace your carpets.
But even though you may not care that your puppy can speak on command or not, Pug potty training is something that you have to go through in order to make sure that your home does not end up destroyed. There can be a lot of problems if the potty training is left for later as carpet and new floors are not cheap at all. Try to start training in the beginning and you will not be so wound up all the time when the puppy is freely walking around. First thing first is that you really must select the method that will work best for you and your puppy. The best way to go about Pug potty training is by using the crate training method. This is not cruel by any means because dogs are animals that naturally love to curl up into a den and rest. These dens are often a small and snug structure so that they are kept warm but not so small that they cannot stand up or turn around. When you are sleeping, when you are not home or when you are home but simply cannot pay absolute attention to the puppy, you need to place him or her in their crate. When training your puppy it is important to keep an eye on him or her at all times so when you cannot do that, it is best that you place them in their crate, or den, for a small period of time. There are a lot of places to purchase dog crates from, but by heading straight to your local pet supply store you are most likely to find exactly what you are looking for there. Now, whenever you cannot be right with your puppy either because you are sleeping or are leaving the house, make sure you place them into their crate. Never leave a puppy unattended just as you would never leave a human baby out to wonder around when no one is home as it is simply not safe. Also, you will want to make sure that when you puppy is out and about running through the house that you take him or her outside every hour on the hour in order to give them a chance to do their thing. Pug potty training also works best if the food and water is kept up away from the puppy in order to control its eating habits. Controlling a puppy's eating habits not only makes sure that they do not over eat, but it also gives you a chance to monitor when they may need to go outside. Within about ten to fifteen minutes after eating and drinking, your puppy will need to go outside so make sure you give him or her that chance. Otherwise, you will find that your puppy made him or herself at home on your new carpets. |
