Black Bear, Chapleau Crown Game "Platform # 3" was next and it was a little more substantial. It also had a mound of wood chips at the entrance to the path and a worn walkway around it. We choose the walkway around. Only about 50 feet off the road this stand warned of an electric fence around it. We never did see where the electricity came from and I was not brave enough to test it. Chapleau Crown Game After dinner we again headed for the Chapleau Game Preserve. I turned on the side road where our first bear was sited this morning. I did not expect to see any, knowing that they do travel around. No bear was seen. We returned to the main road. Slowing at each lake we scanned the shore line for any movement and the water for any sign of animal life. Again we stopped at the "Beaver House" sign...... Chapleau To Cochrane: A Moose? Anxiously we left the hotel about 9:45 wishing and praying that we might see a moose on the road to Timmons. One waitress at the hotel restaurant told us she had seen moose on the road side but later in the day. Out of town we turned on the road toward Timmons, about 200 km away or 120 miles. Polar Bear Habitat Initially I was disappointed. After paying $42 CA, no bears were to be seen. There were several people in the viewing area. The Habitat has two areas separating the one male from the two females. Each of the areas is quite large, big enough for a medium sized home with enough space for grass to mow! Polar Bear Express Riding The Rails To Moosonee Anxious! Excited! Which? Both! I am a child again!At 5:45 I called the front desk to cancel my 6 am wake up call. The restaurant did not open until 6:30 so we made sure we were ready. Entering the restaurant my wife and I were the only ones there. Wow, we were early!
