A one stop haven for shopping and entertainment, Plaza Semanggi has everything that a mall could offer. Having shopped for hours and in need of some refreshments, one can always go to Gillian's and enjoy playing pool while enjoying Gillian's great cocktails.

Gillian's is a cozy place where you can play pool and darts or just relax while enjoying a view of Jakarta from the fifth floor of the Plaza Semanggi. I went here one Tuesday night with friends after having dinner at Plaza Semanggi's food court. Most of Gillian's guests were young executives who skip the rush hour traffic by playing pool with colleagues before going home.

According to Mr. Surya, Gillian's Assistant Manager, Gillian's is at its busiest during weekends, when a live DJ is spinning progressive and R&B tracks. Wednesdays, he adds, are Ladies Nights; girls can play pool all evening for free by just ordering a drink. A must-try is the Cendana, a 25-liquor combination that costs around Rp 175,000 per glass.

As for the food, a plate of nasi goreng kampoeng costs Rp 37,500 while the Thai dish char kway teow can be had for Rp 34,500.

Like in other pool venues in Jakarta , expect to spend around Rp 45,000 and Rp 60,000 for the regular and VIP pool tables, respectively.
