Well Rounded Orange
by: Sophia

The Orange is a quaint little pub located in Desa Sri Hartamas. It has all the right ingredients for social and business gatherings which is why it’s been the longest standing pub in the area. So if you’re craving for a cosy and quiet spot to just spend time with friends or colleagues, the Orange is well equipped to serve you.

In accordance to its name, the Orange is very much cool and calm. The soft colours gives the place a friendly and cheerful character. But in contrast, the orange lights are dimmed which makes the place look somewhat orange. The bar is located towards the back of the establishment while the front portion is reserved for the sofas and the tables. The Orange has a very cool atmosphere as the sliding doors to the balcony are left open. Visitors will still be able to get the feel of what’s going on outside rather than feel cooped up and suffocated.

The drinks menu is pretty much standard. Nothing out of the ordinary. Prices of drinks are reasonable so it definitely won’t create a dent in your wallet if you’re attempting to get a particular someone intoxicated. There’s also a food menu which consists of some western delights and some local flavours. Prices for food are reasonable as well averaging at about RM20 for a meal.

One interesting feature at the Orange is Tuesday nights as it is Pub Quiz night. This battle of the brains is held every alternate Tuesdays and is attended by a bunch of people from all walks of life. People congregate in this one place for a battle of the wits in an attempt to win the grand prize of a bottle of wine, a few bottles of beer and the honour of being quiz masters for the next quiz. You’ll find an eclectic mix of people here and it’s a good way to socialize as everyone is really friendly. What’s more, you get to learn something new.

The Orange has been around for as long as Desa Sri Hartamas and its no wonder why. Although its not a loud and hip place that so many youngsters seem to flock to nowadays, it has a charm to it. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is cosy. So do drop by on Tuesdays for your dose of mental stimulation, or any other day for that matter. The Orange welcomes you.
