The serene beach and its pleasant park, was formerly land occupied by the British Forces. At the Sembawang Jetty, stood the former colonial residence of Admiral Beaulieu, which was restored.

Locals are drawn to this beach to relax, swim, jog or if you have a passion for fishing, this beach still has its regular fishing crowd lined along the beachfront of coastal Kampong Wak Hassan. The habitants of these shorelines are mostly the Grouper and the Flower crab. It would be best to bring your own food because there aren't many places to buy food or drinks here.

The most interesting spot of this park is the Sembawang Hot Spring, which is opened daily to the public from 7am to 7pm. Simply follow the concrete footpath from Gambas Avenue to get to the hot spring.

Hot spring water has been known to have healing properties, specifically its ability to get rid of aches and pain. In the sixties, the locals believed that the sizzling water was known to get rid off the bad luck off the punters before they went to horse races. Today, proper drainage system and paved concrete is set up for public usage.
