Really not bad at all! Come Here with a big group! Perfect for family get togethers and reunions. Ensure u order crab!
This chilli prawns from this seafood restaurant is very much like the chilli crab, only is that the crab has been replace with the large crunchy prawns. The chilli sweet gravy is not too thick and also not too spicy. However I still prefer this gravy to go along with the crabs as think may make the dish may sweet and tasty. This dish also goes well with the deep fried mantou too.
Whenever I patron this chinese restaurant, I will definitely order their one of the popular dish, which is the drunken prawns.Large, juicy, crunchy prawns are cooked in really fragrant wine sauce which make the prawn meat really sweet and tasty.Best to eat it on it own or even with some plain rice or noodles. The wine flavour is quite alot and best for those who love that unique smell from the chinese wine.Delicious!
Had dinner at Tung Lok Seafood @ Arena Country Club, a rather obscure club (if you even call it a club) just opposite SAFTI MI. Strangely enough, the same stretch of low rise buildings also host a go karting track and a huge burger king outlet. The place is quite a size and can easily fit up to 200+ people. However, the interior is a little dated but still presentable nonetheless. Definitely more suited to family dining than business meals. Homemade Beancurd with Spinach - Sitting on a bed of spinach and topped with mushrooms, this dish lacked consistency. Some pieces of beancurd had a nice savoury taste but some were just outright bland. Pity really. Sweet and Sour Pork - While I will admit that the sweet and sour pork had a nice smoky taste to it, the meat to flour proportion was greatly skewed in favour of the flour, which was a real bummer. Not to mention that portions were tiny for $18++. Stir Fried Kailan - Drenched in light, mildly salty gravy without being overcooked. Very decent. Roast Chicken - Served with the de facto crackers, the roast chicken boasted razor thin crisp skin coupled with tender flesh and a generous splashing of salt. Only gripe I had was that the meat could have been juicier. Still good though but nothing compared to what I had at Lung King Heen (http://www.timelessfacade.com/2011/10/lung-king-heen-hong-kong.html) of course. Deep Fried Prawns with Wasabi Mayo Sauce - Apparently Tung Lok came up with this dish many years ago. I am not sure how accurate this piece of information is but the prawns were really quite good. Huge, crunchy and coated in a thin layer of flour with a mild tolerable level of wasabi. But it\'s $52++ for a large serving for 9 pax. Horfun with Prawns - Although each of us managed to snag a huge prawn each, the hor fun itself lacked wok hei but I did like the not too starchy gravy with generous amounts of egg. But at $40++ for such a small portion, I\'m inclined to think that it\'s quite overpriced. Total bill for the 9 of us stood at $238 with a 20% discount. Sure, we were all stuffed at the end of it (courtesy of the ever reliable bowls of rice) and food quality was generally above average, but I wouldn\'t term it value for money. Portions were less than generous and honestly, none of the ingredients in our dishes were anywhere near expensive. But still, if a family dinner is at hand and you would like an "established" brand name with decent food and prices that won\'t break your bank, Tung Lok Seafood may just appeal to you. Very wide range of dishes to choose from in their buffet lunch menu. Was indeed very filling and satisfying.Their desserts are equally delicious which includes the Herbal Jelly served with Honey & Chilled Almond beancurd with longan. Both are cooling and refreshing.I have also enjoyed their deep-fried prawn dumplings served with salad sauce as the large diced fresh prawn in it is really juicy and crunchy. The external crust is also very crispy and fragrant.Do note a minimum of 4 persons is required for lunch buffet.Great hang-out venue with friends, relatives and colleagues. The environment is also very cosy and spacious.Spending: Approximately SGD 30(Lunch)
had the buffet lunch today, some of the dishes are extraordinary while some are just normal. However I especially love the roast duck! It’s crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I think the price is reasonable, and the place is comfy. Would definitely go back there again for another meal!
This is our family\'s favourite restaurant. The dishes are the best in its class especially the Chilli Crab + the Man Tou (Fried or Steamed). The crab\'s sauce is really incomparable. The environment is suitable for group\'s gathering whether it is for colleagues, friends or families. The service is really good even though sometimes due to the peak hour, it gets really slow to ask something from the kitchen. The head waitress is able to speak casually and friendly using Cantonese and also Chinese. This adds on the jubilant and lively atmosphere to the restaurant.
went for the ala carte buffet at first i thought it would be expensive but overall quite cheap ,about $25 +++ the sashimi was very fresh, i like the pork, very chewy & juciy,as for the century eggs was just so so overall i rate 6/10
Using Tung Lok voucher spend $100 and discount $50. Usually people will spend more than a $100, but the waiter really helps us and mentioned $8 more to reach $100 from the menu that i ordered. I ordered shark bone soup, seafood platter, and 2 desserts (beancurd with avocado, yam paste with gingko nuts in coconut. First time saw yam paste inside the coconut, taste good with a coconut smell. I like the beancurd with avocado, a special combination. And i like the fried mango prawns from the seafood platter with mayonnise sauce.
Good place for Tim Sum after a morning walk on weekends at East Coast.I love to come here to Yum Cha in the mornings with family. The Tim Sum is fresh and if you go early, there\'s an early bird discount and not as crowded as normal hours. My fav dish at this restaurant would be the Seafood Soup in Melon!
Above are the 6 outstanding dishes under their buffet list.Especially the crispy fish skin with salted egg... this is definitely a \'must try\' dish.Pan-fried carrot cake is also quite special.Stir-fried beef is very tender and juicy.Generally most of the dishes are up to standard, except for most fo the dim sums... think may need some improvement. Will give my verdict: 7/10Worth the try as prices are pretty reasonable. Spending: Approximately SGD 30(Lunch)
