At a period when other watch retailers carried 20 to 30 popular generic brands, Yafriro represented only a few little-known brands such as Parmigiani and deLaCour that were still relatively unheard of in Asia. He embarked upon an avant-garde challenge to dissuade the traditional perception of watches as mere objects of prestige, and introduced new brands with fine timepieces that could be appreciated as functional works of art. Through his stewardship, Yafriro gradually became a specialist in developing new and obscure watch brands into emerging new trends and notability. Since then, Yafriro has opened boutiques in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and Bangkok to meet the growing regional demand for its brands. In 2010, another milestone is reached with the opening of Yafriro’s second watch boutique in Singapore at Marina Bay Sands and the introduction of two of the world’s most coveted jewellery brands to Yafriro’s portfolio: LEVEIV, a purveyor of extraordinary fine diamonds, and Scavia, creative Italian designer jewellery.
