Description Fontanafredda as a wine producing company did not, however,commence until 1878 ,when Emmanuel Guerrieri,court of Mirafiori,dedicated his entrepreneurial skills to wine with the passion and far sightedness. His approach proved to be thoroughly modern,leading to the immediate implementation of innovative criteria focused on producing wines of quality,in particular Barolo. Testimony to the estate’s noble past remains intact today –hunting lodge,the hamlet , the extensive cellars , the vineyards. The winery continues to experiment and move in the times in perfecting what nature and history have handed down. |

Description Friuli is a top-quality Region for the production of white wines, and for the past century it has succeeded in vying with the world’s most celebrated viticultural zones. Indeed, Ca' Bolani produces elegant, refined white wines such as Pinot Grigio, Traminer, Sauvignon, Tocai, Chardonnay and Müller Thurgau. The estate also makes an Aquileia D.O.C. Rosato (rosé) from Merlot grapes and outstanding reds such as Cabernet, Merlot and the intriguing and appealing Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, made from one of Friuli’s great indigenous varieties. The domaine also produces and estate-bottles two white wines, Tamanis (100% Sauvignon) and Opimio (a blend of 50% Tocai Friulano and 50% Chardonnay), and two reds, Alturio (a 100% varietal Refosco) and Conte Bolani (a blend of Merlot, Cabernet and Refosco). |
