A Tribute To Mamma Lena

The Gustins arrived in Australia unceremoniously in 1956, just 4 people within a crowd of hundreds of other Italians but a star was amongst them. An unassuming, generous and kind lady that when spurred onwards by husband Dino, emerged as a tireless worker that touched many lives and made a difference for those in need. This unselfish lady became the "mother" of all Italians in Australia earning her the affectionate title of "MAMMA LENA", a title given to her by the people and a title with such deep meaning that even 3 decades of time could not erode. 

Songs and books have been written about this wonderful lady, and no, none of the authors and artists had commercial reasons for doing this, they contributed their time & talent as a tribute to Lena's goodness and charitable work. 

This page is dedicated to this wonderful lady and to her untiring husband Dino.... my parents. It is my humble addition to the gratitude these artists and authors have expressed, using technology, now their work, their feeling and indeed the feeling of all those who's life was touched by this wonderful lady can be shared by all.
