1) One great way to generate more traffic to your web site is to write and submit articles . It is a classic tactic , but it works big time. The great thing about writing articles is that this will result in, indefinite traffic stuck in the search engines for you for ever and a day. Write quality unique articles, not articles that are rehashed or provide no insight to readers, which is a huge problem these days and a mistake a lot of people make.



2) Writing and submitting press releases are a great idea and there are lots of free places to do this. You can find a list of places to submit press releases to at Google.

3) Write and ping blog entries, this is something I do with great effect. You must however remember to always make sure to link back to your website with your blog posts. Try making multiple blogs and have them all link back to one main site. I tend to use one blog post for each individual article. That way you don't cause confusion to your potential customers directing them to a blog post with multiple articles on different subjects and then by redirecting them from a blog post which is confusing and hard to understand to your website. People don't like being confused, they just give up and go else where.

4) It's a good idea to make sure your website is listed in as many website directories as possible.

5) Advertise your website in the appropriate categories at Craigslist. Try posting your ads in the most populated cities in the world. With the power of the Internet this is now a very easy ans quick thing to do.

6) Signing up to forums that cater for your particular niche is also a good idea. If that forum allows signatures, then make sure to add your website url in there below your authors bio.

7) You should make sure to view related products on Amazon.com. Doing so you can try and take some customers from your competitors here by providing your own url if the product is similar.

8) Review websites in your niche on Alexa to try to take some of their traffic by including a reference back to your site. This is perfectly legal and something your competitor are doing on a daily basis. Remember it's a dog eat dog world out there. Your in business to make a profit not make friends.

9) Review some related products on epinion as it pays so find out what your up against and what your competitor are up to.

10) Of course stuffing the opposition isn't just what being in business is about. At times it pays to also be courteous. So if you purchase a product that you actually like, then feel free to give an individual respect where respect is due and leave a testimonial. By doing this you should be able to get some traffic from that website if your testimonial is left with a url. You see being courteous has it's benefits.
