If you answered yes to any of these questions than these programs may be for you.
I decided to do some research because of the increased demand to see what companies I could put on my site to fill the demand. I will try and highlight some of what I found, as you will when you do your research, in that niche of the Data Entry marketplace.
Make sure you do your research or use a company like mine, but not necessarily mine, that has done research for you or be prepared to spend the time researching yourself.
When doing my research I was looking to see what was available in the following areas.
Medical transcription
Medical billing
Medical coding
Medical terminology
Medical records specialist
Medical records & Health
Information technician
I found a company that offers a wide variety of distance education options, from medical transcription courses and medical coding classes, to digital photography programs. Home training lets students schedule their own online classes in the comfort of their own homes.
For seven years, this particular company has offered learning opportunities in expanding fields. The most consistently popular choice has been medical transcription education, followed closely by medical coding and billing courses.
They provide students with instructor mentoring, interaction with both instructors and fellow students, and modular presentation of information online to ensure lessons are studied in the most efficient order. There are six professional medical transcriptionists on staff to instruct the three medical transcription courses, which are geared toward three different career goals.
Depending upon course choice, successful completion qualifies students to work at home or at healthcare facilities, as medical transcriptionists, or in medical billing or medical coding departments. All courses offer a Certificate of Completion after students have successfully written a final exam. This company is a member of the American Association for Medical Transcription (AAMT), and all of these courses follow the Association's model curriculum.
This company in my opinion is a top rate company offering all types of training and support.
I found another company whereby you can get started for a fraction of what you would pay for the company above. Some would say you get what you pay for. Others will say I can do the same thing for less. It's up to you.
Here is an example of what this company offers:
You'll learn how to charge for your work so you get the most money for your time. (Some medical transcriptionists are cheating themselves out of money and don't even know it.)
They will teach you how to get paid for lines you don't type, so you can make an extra $15.00 an hour minimum, for free!
You will learn the best courses to take so you can start your own medical transcription business in the shortest time possible.
You get the actual sales letter to send out to the doctors to get accounts - the one that landed an account every time It was sent out.
You'll learn about the patient privacy act and HIPAA act and how to apply it to your business.
You will get fifteen different sample medical transcription notes to look through to get an idea of what you'll be typing.
You will be walked through an interview with the doctor and I tell you what to say to secure the account. You will walk away with all the information you need, including samples of his work to help you get started.
You will hear success stories from people just like you.
You will learn about various medical note formats and how to apply them to your work to save you hundreds of hours. You don't want to be typing pages of work when you don't have to. Please feel free to read both this article or one of my many others by visiting my link in the resource box below. I always enjoy getting emails pertaining to my articles or my site. Your feedback is important to me.
No matter which option you choose this is can be a viable option that will enable you to work from the convenience of your home.

MT salaries can vary greatly, and your actual earnings will depend on a few different factors. For example, an MT who works from home and has her own accounts will usually make more money than an MT who works for an online service or at a traditional job setting.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor the average earnings for MTs in the year 2004 was between $11.50 and $16.32 per hour. MTs in the higher earnings range (10%) earned $19.11 per hour.
Now, keep in mind that's just a statistic. How much you actually earn can vary greatly and it's really difficult to come up with a “true” earnings statistic.
If you work from home on your own accounts there may be months where you have extra work and months when you have less. Your earnings could also differ dramatically from another fellow MT who works from home on her own accounts.
A great advantage about having your own MT business is you can truly have control over your earnings. The more accounts you have, the more money you'll make.
As your business grows you can hire subcontractors and take on even more work. There really is no limitation in how large your business can grow.
You may also choose to have a smaller and easier to handle business. You can always work a little extra to increase your earnings, or simply take on the amount of work that suits your needs.
If you have a home based MT business and you do all the work yourself, you can make anywhere between $20,000 a year to $50,000 a year. A larger transcription service, which hires subcontractors can earn between $50,000 a year to $200,000 and upwards.
Medical transcription jobs outside the home can vary just as much, depending on where you live. Earnings can be from $9.00 per hour to $22.00 per hour.
It's really difficult to say exactly how much your medical transcription salary will be. But one thing to keep in mind is the earning potential is there and there are many opportunities for you to take.
This is TRULY a business which allows you to have control over how much you earn.
