Be sure to check with your hosting company concerning shared IP addresses, unique IP addresses, and the compatibility of using an autoresponder. Some responders can not be used with certain hosting companies.

At the end of the day having it put on your own server will be most beneficial to you and your business.

Some even have monthly or even yearly fees. My take is, if you pay anywhere between $100-$200 for an autoresponder, it should be a one time fee.
