These days, due to work pressure and stressful life, people hardly get time to spend with their family. Due to exhaustive list of activities like work, school, church and various other activities they cut down the time to be spent with family. The task to redesign the work structure so that you get the chance of spending sometime with family is entirely in your own hands.



Quality time is more than just face time. When a family spends quality time together, they are talking and interacting about events, issues, and activities that affect their lives. Families that spend quality time together are often closer and have healthier relationships. Furthermore, parents that spend quality time with their children often are more in tune to their kids lives and are more likely to see any problems that may occur.

It is wise to draft a schedule of events for everyone. These schedules include parents as well. Make it visible for everyone. This comprehensive schedule should include children's sports activities, homework, get-togethers and any event involving the family. If you feel that your children are over occupied with sports activities then make a point in cutting the number of activities. Restrict your child's activity to only one or two per season. It has been seen that children perform well if they are not made to juggle between school and home activities.

It is good to go in for dinner at least a few times during a week as it strengthens the family bond despite its importance having fallen apart due to the busy life schedule. Always make sure television set is off during the dinner so that the focus is not lost. Fix the dinner time in accordance with the convenience of all the members so that all can sit together.

Try to mark one free day or night a week as family time. During that time, the entire family should spend time together without friends, neighbors, or any other distractions. Consider a family outing to the zoo, a museum, or park. Perhaps spending time at home playing board games will best suit your crew. Remember, family time is about familynot the event planned.

The single factor that has been a constant distraction for families is the television. It takes away all the attention and sometimes leads to ugly scenes over differing choices among family members. Try to involve the whole family to watch programs that will entertain all of them or rent movies for all ages, so no one feels left out.

With todays fast pace life majority of the time is spend in the car. This time can be put to good use by the parents in talking to their children and knowing the problems faced by them. Infact there are many families that tend to waste this time and then crib over less time for family interaction.

It depends on you how you involve all family members in each other's activities. For instance, when the whole family goes to watch one child playing a sport or presenting a musical show, it will not only provide a support system and cheering section, but it will also strengthen family bonds.
