Let me start at the beginning. The idyllic picture of crystal clear water softly lapping a pure white beach with soft, soft sand. Palms swaying in a very light breeze and the sweet smell of bougainvillea, hibiscus and other tropical flowers abundantly growing everywhere. That was Mauritius. With the friendliest, happiest locals called Creoles - which is a mix of Chinese, French, Dutch, Indian and heaven knows what else. You couldn't help but feel welcome.
We stayed at Hotel La Pirogue (a pirogue is the local fisher's boats). The roof was shaped like a pirogue's sail full blown. Beautiful. And despite the island setting, the hotel was very elegant with superb seafood and fresh fruits. Most of the other food supplies were imported mainly from South Africa at the time. The displays of food with every meal was breathtaking and one felt sorry to eat it - although it was sooo good!
For the travelers so inclined, there was a very active night life which didn't interfere with the peacefulness - all done very discreetly not to disturb other guests. The weather was perfect and even though it drizzled every now and then, nobody actually packed up and left the beach when it did (except us who didn't know better the first day!) because the sun would shine again in a few minutes. All along the beaches are thatched "umbrellas" to hide from the sun and rain if necessary. A lot of "business" takes place right there on the beach when the local people offer their merchandise without being a nuisance. The area is prone to seasonal hurricanes that can cause a lot of damage but just make sure to check the seasons before you go to avoid big disappointment or even cancellation.
The capital Port Louis was an experience of colors, sounds and smells. You would not believe the contrast when walking through the general merchandise market to the fresh market. The general market smell was a mix of dried fish, bamboo, curry and coconut and everything in between but crossing the walkway into the fresh market….you could smell the earth on the fresh veges and fruit that was harvested that very morning from all the surrounding gardens since this is the way many locals create an extra income. We were told that burglar bars on the windows of some homes at the time was "for decoration only". A peaceful and serene setting for peaceful and serene inhabitants.
Coming To America Movie Part 1
If you are young or even just new to the bodybuilding scene then I urge you to read this before making a decision that can and will change the rest of your life forever. So, are you too young? I decided to write this article due to the countless mails I have received asking advice on cycles from well, children. Let me start be giving you a few examples of mails which I have been sent:
"Is 16 too young to begin my first AS cycle? My friend advised me to start off with sus, nandrolone and dianabol. He also suggested anadrol although it is expensive. What kind of cycle would you advise and how should it be administered?" "I have decided to start taking steroids. I know I am a young 17 year old, but consider myself to have reached my genetic potential. My goal is to increase muscle size and lose some bodyfat but without getting too massive."
I am hoping to start a cycle using Naposim. What way would you structure it and do you know of anything else I could take with it to help. I am not interested in injectables as they frighten me plus I still live with my parents so it would be kinda difficult for me, so am hoping to do an oral only cycle. Also do you think my friends at school will be able to tell ie. Will I get bad acne and get aggressive?"
These are just a couple of many examples, but unfortunately these people have normally already decided on starting to take steroids. They are just on a desperate mission to find other young people who think along the same lines as they do, and I have had to deal with numerous cases like this, although I often feel that my good advice is just ignored.
If you are young or even just new to the bodybuilding scene then I urge you to read this before making a decision that can and will change the rest of your life forever. Hopefully if someone out there in this position reads this, then they will at least be able to make a much more informed decision. If so then my job is done.
It is pretty much common knowledge nowadays that most serious athletes and bodybuilders use steroids and other performance enhancing drugs to help them achieve their goals. They do work but also have very serious side effects if taken incorrectly, especially at a young age. Since the 80's drugs have been exposed much more by the media and the arrival of the internet has opened new doors for people to get the information that they need.
Of course only some of this information is relevant and the rest is misleading. Unfortunately teenagers come across this information and are often too eager to begin achieving their objectives. I have heard of kids as young as 13 taking gear and have seen kids as young as 15 giving out cycle advice on line. When I was 15, the only cycle I was interested in was my BMX.
"As teenagers, boys naturally have high testosterone levels anyway, hence we see growth spurts at that age in males." "Taking exogenous anabolic steroids and other hormones too young can play absolute havoc in the body during this delicate time of development." (Dont miss part 2)
