Most Epoxy floors are very strong .They are resistant to all household chemicals, they are also resistant to mechanical shocks, scratching, etc. They are easy to clean and maintain.

Epoxy floors can be modernly designed and they have a very good visual appearance.

Ok, I must admit that there are many other kinds of floor coverings that look just as fabulous as marble, granite, designed art concrete and some others. These floors are greatly favoured by architects and interior designers. That's why they are so popular with people for whom entrance floors and living room floors have

a special significance.

And what about epoxy terrazzo floors? Well, they may look almost exactly as marble, granite, etc. floors,

and they are more profitable especially when large areas are in question.

And what about floors in basements, garages, workshops, store rooms, laundry rooms, heating rooms, or footpaths around pools, etc?

Most people don't care much about the floors in those rooms, or they are the last thing they think of . They usually just leave it to the designer or contractor to decide what floor covering to be used.

Also, the truth is that people usually run out of money in the last phase of building or remodeling their houses so they cover their ?less important? floors with the cheapest floor coverings they can buy and for which they say they are ?not too bad? (usually some vinyl or tile), or they don't cover these floors at all.

It should be remembered that the floors in garages, store rooms etc. are in very frequent use and are very often cleaned.

Also, basement or garage floors, or footpaths around houses and pools are more often damaged

than the other floors in the house.

Epoxy floors are long lasting floors. If they are done with high quality epoxy resins and correctly,they can be in use for more than 50 years.

Having all that in mind, do you still think that epoxy floors are expensive? I am sure you will say they are not.

Concrete Epoxy Floor Coatings

When a new floor is laid out in our home, we would like the floor should last for quite a long period of time. Epoxy flooring would be an ideal solution for laying floors inside a house. Such flooring would be quite rugged and would last for a long time.

Epoxy resin floorings are generally used in areas which are subject to high amount of abrasion. This type of flooring is also used in areas where there is a lot of human traffic. For protecting existing surfaces from wear and tear, they are protected by applying epoxy resin.

Another advantage of are their versatility of use. These floors could be used in industries as well as in homes.

But, to get the best result from epoxy resin floorings, a few precautions are to be taken for obtaining the best results.

First of all, care should be taken to see that the resins should not be mixed too fast. Otherwise, it would lead to the creation of air bubbles which will not get dissolved within the resin. The resin should never be applied on the floor using a roller otherwise it may lead to the formation of air bubbles.

The second point that has to be kept in mind is that some of these epoxy resins would require some time for proper setting. Therefore, after applying epoxy resin to the floor, it should not be disturbed before the resin gets properly set. The resin is somewhat sticky while it is drying and may sometimes take a few days for proper setting. Therefore, it is very important that enough time should be given for proper setting of epoxy flooring.

There are a few advantages of Epoxy resin flooring that are given below:

1.Epoxy flooring consists of seamless and impervious membranes and dirt and bacteria cannot penetrate or settle in the floor because of this property of imperviousness.

2.Applying more coats of resin makes the surface smoother. This smoothness makes the floor easier to clean.

3.Varying texture of the flooring could be obtained by applying quartz aggregates in different sizes using the resin.

4.Epoxy resin floorings are quite rugged. They are impact resistant and durable which does not depend on the fact whether it is a thick poured floor or made by applying flexible coating.

5.Epoxy flooring could be made quite decorative by using colored pigmented resin or quartz aggregates.

Therefore, you are thinking of laying floors which should be rugged and long lasting, epoxy resin flooring would be the ideal solution for you.
