Groups are ready for one of the most important soccer tournaments in America as it is the Copa America. Venezuela will be the host for the 2007 tournament, for the first time in this event's history.
One of the groups that create more expectation is the Group C, being the one that holds the United States team as winners of 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup; they had a special invitation to take part in the tournament. The last participation of the North American team in the Copa America was in 1995 and at that time they could not make it as well as in the Gold Cup, where they achieved the 4th place.
Home team Venezuela remained in group A, and will have to measure its power only against South American teams as Bolivia, Peru and Uruguay. While the title holder, Brazil was drawn into group B along with Ecuador, Chile and the guest Mexico.
Nine cities are ready to receive the12 teams, 10 South American, and the two special guests: Mexico and the USA. The final game will be played at the Estadio Metropolitano de Merida which has a capacity of 45 000 spectators.
Less than five months before the games begin, Group C appears to be the toughest with USA playing with Colombia, Paraguay and the well recognized Argentina. However, all football enthusiasts will have to wait until the July 15th final to judge by themselves, what team gave the best performance during the Copa America.
