Being a Professor of biology and an M.D with a good understanding of human physiology it suddenly dawned on the oncologist that disease had developed millions of years ago as a survival strategy.



Animals have there own protective strategies? To protect itself! Humans are more sophisticated so their survival strategies are more complex.

The physiological changes the disease bring about (i.e. increased secretion of catecholamines) so as to help the person. Millions of years ago being separated from the pack meant instant death. When a child loses its mother in the mall. A horrible feeling.

The metaphorical equivalent in today's society might be a man betting his child's school fees on the wrong horse.

In fact the brain is not short circuiting as that implies an error. Every dis-ease is special biological program that serves a function and has intrinsic meaning.

One can only marvel at the ingenuity of Nature. This understanding deepens our appreciation of our place in the cosmos. Life is believed to have developed over four billion years.

The life apparatus is an expression of fine tuning on a level that biochemists marvel at. They see millions of reactions occurring simultaneously every second of every day. It is only us humans who arrogantly believe that Nature makes mistakes. Wrong - she is goal orientated.
