Do you believe in signs or does it depend on the sign. Well I have always known and understood that the Universe , God, Universal Source, however you choose to call it communicates to us on a daily basis through some form or another. I always explained to my children that God is not going to appear to you in the form that you think he/she will appear, but communicates through other people or situations or gives us little promptings through different things in our daily lives. We just need to be open to see and hear these things.



Sometimes in the business of our lives and the many challenges that we face I know we tend to get too busy or so caught up in whatever struggle of the day that we dont see the sign posts. Today was one of those days for me. For the past few months I have been dealing and struggling with my emotions of needing to go back to a "job" in order to pay the bills after having left lat year and ventured out to create our new vision and dreams for the projects that we planned with my sister. We had gotten a business loan in order to invest in real estate with the plan that our deals would continue to fund our projects and pay back the loan. As you all know Real Estate crashed particularly here in Florida.

We had been working on the concepts and ideas for the book we are publishing and POOF it all came to what seemed to be a halt along with other factors such as her needing surgery in the midst of all of this to reconstruct lsot cartillage lost in a car acident that almost took her life.

Anyhow, here I am struggling with myself thinking - How am I going to manage all of this?" Can I really be an author? Will people really want to read what I have to say?" Yes, all the doubts and uncertainty started to creep in as I had to reshift my focus temporarily, which was alot harder than I had anticipated.

Within the last two weeks, I got very ill with the flu that eventually turned into bronchitis. Again, a sign as this has to do with feeling resistance to life by not being able to breathe. While in bed one day I was watching Oprah and that day I had wanted to make a point of watching her show as her guest speaker was the author of a book called " Why Men Cheat." Being a family therapsit and dealing with this in my private practice I wanted to watch the show which turned out to be very good and informative. I remember laying in bed sick as a dog thinking, "Now why can't I do something like that?" Sure I can. "Why not?" I told myself.

Well, I got back on my feet and the struggle continued with these emotions and thoughts. Today ( two weeks later) I was on my way to the office and decided to stop at Barnes and Noble to get a book. I almost did not stop because I could not find a parking spot and I was in a hurry. But I did.

As I approached the check out counter another woman is there and we strike up a conversation, amazingingly enough about this virus that is going around and I notice that she is buying the book "Why Men Cheat" and I started to tell her about the show. As it turns out she was the wife of the author!!!!!!! Coincidence????? No I think not. I continued my conversation and as it turns out they live here on Miami Beach. I was in South Miami, quite a distance from where she lives. She was visiting friends and stopped in to get a copy of the book for one of her friends. She was also there to be my SIGN. Right before going in I was thinking of all these feelings about publishing our book. Does this suprise me??? I guess it shoudn't. After all I did tell my children, " God communicates in many different ways." From my own mouth. Well I guess I cannot ignore the SIGN. It was very clear. START WRITING!!!!!!

SIGNS, they are sometimes easy to ignore and yet sometimes so powerful when we open ourselves to really observing all around us as a form of communication. It really drives home the point for me that we really are not alone. God, however you choose to define that for yourself, does communicate in many ways, we just need to pay attention to the signs.
