You must be specific in your passions. Only then can you focus all your efforts on that particular desire.
Some people really don't know what they want. Some have never stopped to ask themselves that very important question. Consequently, they will too often find themselves, once again, terribly excited over some new project or endeavor, only to once again experience a disappointing realization that the excitement has been short-lived.
The project is abandoned. Perhaps they lose interest; perhaps they give up when encountered with a problem. Perhaps the project wasn't the right fit for them to begin with.
Those who always change their minds and those who give up easily when the going gets tough, will never get anywhere. If you are pursuing what is for you, a personal passion, the going never gets too tough.
Maybe right now you're confused. You don't seem to know what you want in life. Consider this:
1. What makes your heart beat with excitement?
2. What makes you happy?
3. What are your favorite daydreams?
4. What do you want to do for the rest of your life?
5. What do you enjoy doing?
6. What are your obsessions?
7. What is it that others consider work, but you consider fun?
Try this self analysis:
1. Write on a piece of paper all your possible answers for the seven questions above. Write anything that comes to mind, even responses that seem silly or unimportant.
2. Encircle the 5 to 7 answers that interest you the most.
3. Now evaluate and choose with your heart. What is the one thing, the only thing, that you consider worthy of your best time and resources. Your choice will reflect an activity or interest that will bring out the best in you.
In addition to completing the above exercise, ask close friends and relatives about their personal dreams. Read books and surf the net for information on areas of interest.
There's also a little-known method that's just starting to gain popularity called -- Affirmations. If you do a little search online you'll find some very interesting materials explaing this method.
What affirmations basically do is to allow you to focus all your creative energy on something specific that you want and thus start manifesting it.
I can tell you from personal experience that affirmations are by far the easiest and quickest way of manifesting the specific desires you have... any desires!
And when combined with the power of subliminal technology, you could multiply the power of your affirmations exponentially!
Do You Really Want It
Do you think you need your life circumstances to change before you can be happy? Most people have long held ideas in their head of what they think will make them happy and can't be happy unless those things happen. Well, once most people get something they have wanted, they probably won't be satisfied for long. They realize there is still a hole that needs to be filled with happiness, so they must get something bigger and better, and surely that will make them happy. Some people just don't allow themselves to reach contentment. Do you notice that you can't stay satisfied either?
Even when things dont seem great, the bonus is that a change in your mindset is all it takes to feel better and be happy. Here are 3 steps to help you be happy.
1) Be Thankful- Instead of taking everything for granted, be grateful for all you have in your life. It's a very positive state of mind. You've heard the saying - see the glass as half full, not half empty. Even focus on and be grateful for the small things. This positive thinking brings happiness.
2) Take a step back and see the flowers through the trees - you wont be enjoying life much if you are always all over the place. Make sure you allow yourself time out to enjoy some real contentment. Dream, relax and enjoy all the good things in life. Enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Suck it up when someone smiles at you and be very sure to smile back. Do things you enjoy regularly. Reading good books or listening to music you like are good ways to enjoy life's simple pleasures.
3) Enjoy the road you are travelling. Alot of people can only see the light at the end of the tunnel and dont bother finding enjoyment in the journey. People focus too much on finally "getting there" and think that will finally make them happy. Don't forget about the journey to get where you are trying to go, because you can gain a lot from your journey too. Every time you accomplish something or meet a goal, revel in that and feel good about it. The more you enjoy the journey, the more you'll enjoy the destination.
Sometimes happiness is simply something that you choose. Certain situations can make it extremely difficult to feel happy, but a lot of times people let small things bother them so much, that they are not allowing themselves to be happy. Don't make a mountain out of a mole hill. Choose to be happy and embrace it. It will make your life a lot better.
