Each time I fly, I usually keep an eye out for those nervous, anxiety-filled fellow passengers who are very obviously unhappy about taking an airplane. Often, there are more than one such unfortunate travellers on each plane and their evident discomfort and obvious fear of flying is something very real, apparent and palpable.
Fear of flying is indeed a very common phobia. Together with the fear of spiders and the fear of public speaking, fear of flying is the most common phobia there is.
In our rational, conscious mind, of course, we may be only too well aware that flying is the safest means of public transport in existence. In terms of accidents and fatalities, it is much, much safer than driving, for example. The Federal Aviation Authority has researched and reviewed the accident rate for the past few years and, according to them, you would have to take one flight a day for the next 22,000 years in order to be the casualty of a crash in a commercial airplane.
These, surely, are pretty impressive odds in anyone's book!
The problem is, of course, that fear of flying - in common with all phobias - is not based in logic or rationality. It is a learned fear and, as such, it is generated by the subconscious mind. Fear is a feeling, and though feelings are interpreted by the conscious, analytical mind, they are not really generated there. They are driven by the subconscious, feeling mind. This explains why it is so very difficult to simply use logic and willpower to order them away.
The good news, of course, is that since this fear is learned - the fear of loud noises (startle reflex) and of falling (parachute reflex) are the only fears we are actually born with - then it can be un-learned.
Of course, CDs are freely available which claim to rid you of the fear of flying and some of these might be partially useful in temporarily easing this fear to a certain degree. They can assist in producing limited feelings of greater relaxation. But, such strategies work only at the symptom level, by attempting to 'suggest' away the fear, leaving the actual cause of the problem untouched. And, based on my own professional experience and training, if the 'driver', the cause of the fear is left untouched and untreated, it will indeed find some way to surface and persist.
Real and effective treatment for fear of flying need not be lengthy and it is a surprisingly simple process. Usually, this phobia can be treated and cleared in as little as two sessions of effective transformational hypnotherapy. The word 'effective' is key here, of course -- because of lack of proper training, many 'hypnotherapists' really do not know how to clear this phobia.
There is no real reason for you or anyone to hang on to this truly debilitating, intensely restricting fear. There really is no real reason to go on experiencing fear when flying or thinking about flying. In the hands of a fully trained, experienced transformational hypnotherapist, you can be rid of this handicapping fear and returned to your natural ability to travel and fly with ease.
Seek out an experienced and fully qualified transformational hypnotherapist and free yourself, once and for all, of your fear. You'll be really glad you did!
Fear Of Flying Hypnosis
We don't know exactly how hypnosis works; we just know that it does. According to the Orlando Sentinel, both the National Institute of Health, and the American Psychological Association supports the use of hypnosis in therapy. So, can it help you with your fear of flying? Hypnosis is proven highly effective in treating a lot of problems, from phobias and anxiety to pain and even gastro intestinal problems.
It is not clear how effective hypnosis is in helping people in stopping smoking and loosing weight, but many people claim it has helped them with these problems and a lot of therapist offers hypnosis as treatment.
Using hypnosis means "overruling" you conscious mind and tapping into your unconscious mind to get to the bottom of what your fear is all about. When you are hypnotized you are in a state where you can very easily receive and accept "commands" that will help you deal differently with your situation.
If we are talking about fear of flying hypnosis, this would mean figuring out exactly what it is you are afraid of and then change the response you have to the situation.
Hypnosis is not a magical quick fix that immediately takes away your fear, it is more of a long term practice that can help you deal with your issues. Most hypnotherapists recommend you come back regularly for top-ups, or get a recording that help you maintain you hypnosis at home.
With regular use of fear of flying hypnosis over time and gradual exposure to plains and airports, chances are you can beat your fear.
Fear of flying is so common that it is no longer considered a phobia, and there is a lot you can do about it. Using fear of flying hypnosis can be a good way to build your comfort level with the situation (flying) without even being in it. Over time, your new response will be as natural to you as the old one was, and you will be able to manage your fear to the point where it no longer stops you.
When you manage a situation you are afraid of, you build of positive associations with it, and over time, you can even learn to enjoy it.
There are people who report dramatic difference in how they are feeling after only one hypnosis session. Don't be discouraged when you try your fear of flying hypnosis and it doesn't immediately make you want to sign up as a steward; it is normal to not notice any particular change right away. Hypnosis is usually done over time, and it doesn't necessarily give you an instant response.
Fear of flying can be both painful and difficult to deal with, especially as we are living in a world where flying is almost an everyday event for many of us. Fortunately, fear of flying is very common and, fortunately, highly treatable.
A fear of flying hypnosis program can help you overcome your fear and reclaim your life.
