Five Ways To Boost Your Self-Confidence...

Studies has shown that people with self-confidence and good self-esteem tend to be happier in general, therefore they live a more enjoyable life and are more successful at what they do. On the other hand, people without self-confidence and a low self-esteem tend to live a life filled with depression, anxiety, stress and many more problems that can affect both their mental and physical well-being.



You need to like yourself first before anyone else can like you. Anything that you may not like about yourself, such as your weight, your height etc. can either be changed or must be accepted by you in order to find self-love. Your weight for instance can be changed. You have to start doing things that would lead to a gradual weight loss. A thinner, leaner person is more likely to like himself.

Your height is not a something that you can change. For every inch taller that you'd like to be, you'll have to develop other attributes to compensate for it. You have to become a fast thinker, a person with a good sense of humour, you need to have the kind of attitude that make people enjoy being around, for example.

Dress like a million bucks and your self confidence will take a huge boost specially with all the people complimenting you on how good you look.

I am sure that you have heard the expression, give in order to receive, well, start complimenting people everyday and watch how many compliments you'll start receiving in return.

Walk with good posture, as in walking tall, that will also boost your self-condidence and self-esteem. This by the way, has been scientifically proven.

If you are shy of doing something, then that won't build your self-confidence until you can face it. If you are shy of public speaking, the only way to build yourself up about public speaking is by doing it.

A friend of mine who was relatively shy, told me recently that his last job was about doing presentations to different group of people. He said that he was working in an auditorium designed to accomodate as many as one thousand people. The person doing the presentation is on a podium with large screens revolving around him. As he talks he is pointing to the screens and explaining various elements related to the subject.

What my friend said to me was, the first few days was like hell, he was shaking all over during his presentation and his voice was very shaky due to the state of nervousness that he was in.

One day while on the podium, he said to himself, what do I have to be nervous about? I am doing it because I wanted to do it. Nobody is forcing me to do it. From then on, he said, he became so at ease and relaxed in front of the audience. As a matter of fact, the more people in the auditorium, the better he felt. He did it for five years and it became as easy as walking or eating.

Go ahead and start doing some volunteer work in a field that really make you uncomfortable. Before long, you'd have conquered your fear and all that will be left will be victory over your fear. Your self confidence will soar and your whole life will change for the better.
