Folding Aluminum Lawn Chair

    View:
One of the more recent opportunities for moneymaking hopefuls is Lawn Chair Millionaire, which launched at the end of 2007. Passive income is what the program promises. If you join on the same day you submit your information you are allowed a commission from the pool of money from those who also paid to join on the same day.

Joining costs $80, and you have to sign up for a debit card that costs another $64.99 to receive your money. Remaining in the program requires you to pay another $30 per month. So someone is getting some steady net income, but not you, not yet anyway. If you begin to sponsor people, the price of the debit card is reduced with each person you sponsor and you can begin to earn some money. To avoid being called a pyramid, the program offers a product called "The Vault" which, by most accounts, is not that great--mostly a list of other moneymaking offers that cost extra.

The relatively low cost and novel approach to payouts are probably two big contributors to the buzz this new program is generating. The more thoughtful persons in the crowd probably realize that the scheme will not be able to last forever, but that hardly seems to matter to most people. It is almost as if a new casino has opened up and everyone is curious to try their luck. Well, the odds may not be quite such a longshot as gambling, but it is clear if you add up the expenses and payouts that you can't have a net gain of money without sponsoring people. So your chances of making money without signing anyone else up are, in fact, zero.

Like the couple pictured on the website, it seems that many are responding to the opportunity and jumping at the chance to grab some money. Whether all the people can manage to pull in enough to cover their expenses hasn't seemed to stop many from trying it out. They seem to be having fun joining something new that doesn't cost hundreds or thousands of dollars upfront. With such a recent opportunity, it is not clear what the odds of success are. So far everyone claims that they are being paid on the first day they join, just as the site says. So it seems that Lawn Chair Millionaire is not a scam, though it remains to be seen how long they can keep the good times rolling.

The question that most people have about the Lawn Chair Millionaire program is whether or not they can truly earn a passive income. We'll dive into this subject and try to answer this question with this article.

The Ploy To Join

Lawn Chair Millionaire launched on Dec. 7, 2007. Upon visiting the website, you are immediately enticed to join the program right away through the fear of loss technique. There is a ticker on the site that displays the moneyline pool that is paid out daily. A lot of people will be drawn into this ploy right away just because they don't want to miss out. Therefore, making their marketing technique successful. The site promises you a certain amount of money and continuously urges you to lock in your position before it's too late. If you happen to not join immediately, but rather opt-in to receive more information, you will be bombarded with obnoxious emails. The emails continue to utilize this "fear of loss" technique by warning you that until you join, you are losing out on commissions.

How It Pays

So how does this pool of money pay out anyway? The truth is that the moneyline pool pays out only on the members that join the same day that you join. This commission is then paid out over the next 3 months. It costs $80 to join the program and if your moneyline commission for joining that day is $80, then you will be paid that over 3 months. The program does pay a $20 fast start bonus and a $15 monthly residual income. Remaining in the program will also cost you a $25 monthly fee. So let's do some figuring. If you remain in the program for 3 months, it will cost you $130 and you will make $80 in return. Does that seem like a wise passive income investment?

The other problem is that you have to have the company's debit card in order to be paid your commissions. This debit card costs $39.99. You are actually having to pay the company to be able to be paid yourself.

Conclusion

While the Lawn Chair Millionaire program is not a scam, it is not going to earn you a substantial online passive income. There are millions of people looking to "get rich quick" online. Unfortunately, to earn a great income online you are going to have to put in some time and work. If you want to work hard, sponsor others, and conduct training, then you could possibly do well with this opportunity. However, if you are not willing to recruit others, then you should continue looking for that "get rich quick" opportunity.
