Another very readable reference material is “Growing Carnivorous Plants," which comprehensively tackles not only their identification, but also their cultivation. This book was written by an astronomer cum professional carnivorous plant grower, Barry Rice, who is also one of the editors of the Carnivorous Plant Newsletter, the official journal of the International Carnivorous Plant Society. More than 400 instructive and colorful photographs are featured in this book as it walks the reader through the various carnivorous plants suitable for home cultivation.
Consider also “The Savage Garden" of Peter D’ Amato who has some 30 years of experience in raising carnivorous plants and owning of the nursery, California Carnivores, reputed to keep the biggest carnivorous plant collection in the world. D’Amato’s book is also fully illustrated, with its very informative articles written with a taste of grace and humor.
