The most popular musical instruments used by country music artists today are the guitars. During any performance at the Grand Ole Opry, a musician can be seen playing a bass, steel guitar, electric guitar or a guitar made from polished woods. The stage at the Grand Ole Opry will be filled with musicians that have other popular musical instruments too such as the banjo, fiddle, and violin and some might have smaller musical instruments tucked away in a pocket somewhere.
Many music artists gained their start in the music industry simply because they could play these musical instruments well. Most country music singers have developed songwriting skills while learning to strum guitars in a barn when they were young. Many of the notes played on these popular musical instruments will be tested for tone many times before they are finally committed to paper. In all likelihood, before the song is finally finished, some songwriters will find that they are hoarse after such an ordeal.
In most cases, a songwriter will test the music scores they have written out on a captured audience. Modern day music artists will usually test songs out using guests that they have invited over for dinner. Cowboys were known to strum music out on popular musical instruments while watching herds in a field. Young cowboys had to be more inventive and would often introduce their new musical scores to any animal housed in a barn. A cow, horse, sheep or gaggle of ducks could be in the audience and it was a safe bet that no music scores would bring any complaints.
Drums are popular music instruments that are often used to open shows. Crowds get very inspired and invigorated when they hear the methodical percussions played over the public address systems. These popular music instruments are used to advertise band logos and the female members of the audience often pursue drummers after the music performance is finished for the night. Drums are the heartbeat of any music played on a stage, and many music performances seem dull without them playing in the background.
Electric guitars have been popular musical instruments for many types of music. Rock bands will feature guitar solos that rivet the audience because the spellbinding music that comes from this musical instrument is often loud. A musician can convey many feelings through this popular musical instrument and crowds respond almost immediately. The electric guitar would seem useless without its amplifying counterpart and the foot pedals that are set on the stage before the music event starts.
Steel guitars use metal strings and metal accessories that make country music come alive. Country music artists like the versatility of this popular musical instrument because it can be played while a person is sitting down. Other musical instruments will chime in often, but the familiar chords of the steel guitar will ring clear over those musical sounds. The steel guitar uses pedals and levers to produce various musical notes and a music artist is considered talented when they are able to produce music using all of the mechanisms at one time.

Have you ever paused to listen for a moment to a musician gently strumming an acoustic guitar or performing a blazing, soul-stirring flamenco number? The sounds of an acoustic guitar invoke mystery and a feeling of romance for many people. Most people never stop to consider how versatile and wide-ranging acoustic guitars are, but virtually all of them can enjoy the beautiful music they make.
Is playing an acoustic guitar a skill that you always wanted to take up? You could just look at a guitar and imagine the wonderful melody of notes of your strum. You question how difficult it actually would be the play guitar and how much money you will have to spend to learn how to play.
You think about how fun it would be to play the guitar at family get-togethers or for your friends at parties. But then, you think about how difficult it would be to learn, or how much lessons might cost. Also, you would not know where to find the time to learn how to play properly.
Even though it may seem that acoustic guitars are magical, that's not really the case. The music produced is the magic, not the guitar. This is the same as when you were young and learning to use a pencil. After a time you learned to write very well and you soon were able to write essays, book reports and all sorts of things. Your pencil was merely the tool used to create your writing. This is what it's like with an acoustic guitar. The guitar is the tool that makes your music. Learning the guitar evolves in the same way. When you're in the music store you play around with a guitar, just as you scribbled with your pencil. You hear what happens each time you move your hands a certain way. When you start to learn to play an acoustic guitar you begin to feel at ease and soon your fingers begin to move correctly on their own. After a while the guitar becomes an extension of your hands and your thoughts begin to flow through it naturally.
To one who has never played the acoustic guitar it can be very intimidating even though it is a very compelling instrument. The music produced on a guitar can almost seem larger than life. It seems incredible that anyone could produce such amazing sounds from such a simple instrument.
Some people may feel nervous with an acoustic guitar and treat it like fragile glass. So much so, that they forget an acoustic guitar is meant to be played. The music resides within you and is only heard when you actually play the guitar.
Whether you frequently check out the acoustic guitars in the music store just to get the feel of it, or if you have got one standing silent in the corner, take the time to learn. You will always be proud that you spent the time mastering this instrument.
