It has been found that more than 75% of today's women are going for coloring their hair. There are many mistakes people do while getting their hairs colored, which appears to be unavoidable. But, these mistakes could be avoided if people had more knowledge about this whole process of getting your hair dyed with your favorite color.

People are getting their hairs colored from the beginning of history using various pigment, herbal products and chemicals. In current times, women and men get hairs dyed using various colors, starting from blonde to blue. Many hair styles get enhanced because of hair colors used. They may add more zing, shine, fun and drama to your hair style. It sometimes helps in easier styling of some hair types. A very common mistake made by people while getting their hair colored is to think that their hair color is infallible. Another mistake is to think the hair color is like a paint which could be removed using paint remover. Usually we do not even realize these mistakes. There are many factors which would influence the ultimate outcome of hair coloring. It would depend on perms, other processed involved in hair coloring and time given for the color to work on your hair. You should not get tempted by the idea of adding more color to your hair or try to remove color from your hair at home using bleach or some such harsh chemicals.

Hair color which we see is actually caused by the reflection of light on the pigment of hair shaft. Hair colors of various shades and hues are produced using various colors which would add or subtract from the hair color finally produced. Generally, too ashy or beige hair color would not match your skin tone. Try to use warm or golden colors which give your skin more healthy, youthful glow. If you do not like the result of your hair coloring, you should not panic and then rush to look for a solution. This might cause you more harm.

Following points should be kept in mind while getting your hair colored:

"You should not condition your hair a few hours before you get your hair dyed. It is better that you get it shampooed.

"You should choose a color one shade lighter while dying hair roots. In case you would want to get back to your natural hair color, it would be much more pleasant because it would not show any hair root which is colored completely different.

"You should protect your skin using a towel around your neck to avoid any skin irritation caused by these dyes. It would also protect your clothes.

"For applying dyes safely, gloves should be used.

"Petroleum jelly or creams should be applied around ear and neck to remove any stains.
