High Blood Pressure And Symptoms

    View:
There is a good reason medical experts call high blood pressure "the silent killer". High blood pressure usually does not come with various easily recognizable symptoms. Since there are no usual symptoms, how can one find out if they're suffering from high blood pressure? Simple. Get your blood pressure checked.

Vague feelings and symptoms may suggest that something is not right with your body, but they are not exclusive to high blood pressure. These feelings can be as vague as difficulty sleeping, headaches, dry mouth and feeling more emotional than usual. Who doesn't experience all of these symptoms at one time or another throughout our busy workweeks? However, by far, the most common complaint of those suffering from high blood pressure is headache, though this is by no means a common cause to everyone.

The blood pressure within your head does not cause the headache, in itself, as most people think, but by muscle tension. That is not to say that if you suffer from headaches that you have high blood pressure, it is just a common factor in many, but not all, of those people diagnosed with the condition.

People can live with high blood pressure for months, even years, and not even realize it, and the only way to find out is to have your blood pressure checked regularly. Your doctor or nurse can take your blood pressure for you, or you may opt to buy a digital or analog blood pressure monitor or cuff and stethoscope to do it yourself. Even though high blood pressure does not come with observable signs and symptoms, it can cause severe and irreparable damage if left untreated. It is important to have your pressure checked at least once a year.

Keeping a healthy weight, getting enough exercise and eating a proper diet go a long way toward warding off high blood pressure. Stressful jobs increase the risk of developing high blood pressure and making sure to find a way to destress is not only a healthy way to relax, but also it can save your heart as well. Taking a walk, enjoying time to yourself, reading or various other forms of exercise like yoga or even stretching, are good ways to help soothe your body and mind.

The risk of developing high blood pressure increases if you drink and smoke, so you may want to think twice before lighting up that next one. Obesity is the number one leading cause of cardiac problems developing in all different age groups today, including high blood pressure, also known as hypertension, high cholesterol, strokes and heart attacks. Be kind to your body and make sure that you are not walking right into a high blood pressure situation by not knowing what it is, what it does and how to prevent it. While some may inherit high blood pressure, there are ways to lessen the risk of developing the condition that afflicts millions of Americans every year, as well as billions of people around the world. It is your heart, your body. Take care of it.
High Blood Pressure And Symptoms
Screening and prevention are the best ways to protect your health, since there are many symptoms of high blood pressure. At every check up, your doctor should measure your blood pressure. The average blood pressure is what your normal blood pressure measurement is. Taking it one time does not reflect your true average.

Although many people suffer from this condition, they don't always experience or notice the symptoms of high blood pressure. Often, a person may experience high blood pressure symptoms but they can be confused with symptoms of another disorder or condition. However, there are a few symptoms that most people with high blood pressure will experience at one point or another. Here are the most common.

* Headache - One of the biggest giveaways of high blood pressure symptoms. * Vertigo * Irritability * Nausea * Feeling feverish * Feeling faint

When left untreated, high blood pressure can cause serious problems such as organ damage. Just a few of the examples of what high blood pressure can induce include eye damage and vision problems, stroke, aneurysms, and heart attack. You need to get in touch with your doctor immediately if you notice any of these symptoms of high blood pressure. Controlling it could mean the difference between life or death. Regardless of whether you've experienced the symptoms, you should get your taken and monitor arising problems if your family has a history of high blood pressure.

To avoid high and related problems, eat healthy, exercise, don't smoke, and avoid alcohol. Prevention is the key to staying healthy and happy. It is worth it to take the time to really take care of your body and your health.
