Children want to interact with their environment and to engage in everything that is going on. Unfortunately, everything is really built to an adult scale. As a result, all of the "action" is going on in the 4 1/2' to 6' area, while children are below this area. As a result, kids get a great view of the cabinets, legs, hips, etc. Now that's dull! Especially if you're 3. Since children naturally want to be involved in everything that's going on, (they will learn more if they are!) they will do anything they can to get themselves up to adult level, which brings us to point number 2.
For the adult's happiness.
Children will demand insistently to be at adult level. This usually takes on the form of "up, mommy. UP!!" repeated until said desire is fullfilled. This little statement, said over and over generally does get on ones nerves, especially when trying to cook dinner or when doing other important, time sensitive tasks. So now the grownup has to choose to either do the task one handed or perch the child on a chair. Neither alternative is great.
Where safety stools enter the equation.
As parents, we really do not want to be upset with our little bundles of joy / energy that are our children. Children do not want to be excluded from what is going on. As parents we want our children to be safe while this is all going on. Safety stools are the answer. With a safety stool, our kids can be up at our height connecting with us. We can work two handed. We don't become upset with our kids with the constant pleas to be at our height. Our kids can safely be at our height.
Safety stools allow for a peaceful, more relaxed positive learning environment for children, while keeping our kids safe. Everybody wins!
