A man who lives in Edmonton got in a drunken knife fight with his girlfriend's brother in February of 2007 and stabbed him in the head, causing his death. The second degree murder charges got reduced this month to manslaughter, because his lawyer somehow convinced the judge his intent to kill cannot be proven. This in turn, reduced his sentence to seven years. With the credit for time already served, that leaves us with four years and ten months before this guy is back out on the streets. How exciting. But it is not just this man that should worry us. How many parties or get togethers have you been to where there is alcohol involved? You know, when you go to a holiday party of some sort, a birthday party, a housewarming, TGIF party or anything like that, and there is always "THAT guy"... the one guy that drinks a bit too much and gets out of control? Do you know how to handle an intoxicated and angry person if he or she tries to start an altercation? Do you think your high school aged kids know how to handle a situation like that? (Sorry to disappoint you, but there is quite a bit of drinking at high school parties.)
It is no surprise to hear that people under the influence of alcohol think less about the consequences of their actions. Therefore, they are more likely to throw a punch in response to a crooked look, a misspoken word or if someone cuts in line for the bathroom. And if that person happens to be carrying a weapon, what might happen? Now is the time to get yourself and your teens some self defense training, so that you can keep fiery situations neutral. At Front Sight Firearms Training Institute near Las Vegas, Nevada, founder and director Dr. Ignatius Piazza and his team of professionally trained firearms instructors and self defense teachers will give both you and your children the ability to water the flames in sticky situations. Front Sight is the unsurpassed leader in the gun world, offering the best firearms training available today, the highest quality edged weapons training, first rate martial arts training and unrivaled child and youth safety training.
Self defense courses at Front Sight, including self defense firearms training, knife training and empty hands self defense training, give you the skills you need to handle any situation. You will not only learn how to use your weapon, but you will learn WHEN and WHEN NOT to use it; how to PREVENT using it; how to handle a single attacker or multiple attackers, whether they are armed or unarmed; self defense for if you are attacked; family protection for if a loved one is attacked; and the legal aspects of using your weapon if you must use it. Teens will also learn how to avoid peer pressure so they are less likely to get into an unsafe situation in the first place. Take it from students of Dr. Piazza: Front Sight is, by far, the best.
