How To Cure Gum Disease

    View:
Gum disease is an unfortunate problem that is almost entirely preventable. It is easy to fall into the habit of not properly caring for your teeth, since you probably won't see an immediate repercussion if you miss a day or two of brushing or flossing. But gum disease can develop quickly, and it can wreak havoc in your mouth. Those with advanced gum disease can loose some (or even all) of their teeth. There are many things that contribute towards getting gum disease, so you should inform yourself so that you can avoid the unpleasant affliction.

Gum disease is cause by plaque. Plaque constantly forms on your teeth, and this isn't a problem as long as you clean them frequently. If you let it grow, then the plaque will eventually end up irritating your gums. It causes your gums to become inflamed. This is called gingivitis. Usually it isn't particularly unpleasant or painful. The gums become swollen, and slightly red. When flossing or brushing, they may bleed easily. If you notice these symptoms and you think you're on your way to advanced gum disease, then you should speak with your dentist and see if you can take preventative measures before things get too

However, if you do nothing about the gingivitis, it can eventually morph into something worse. The worse problem is called periodontitis. Plaque eventually spreads below the gums. This is when it starts its really harmful activity. The plaque produces bacteria, and the bacteria aggravates your gums. Only now, it's affecting the parts of your gums that are not exposed. As your mouth tries to correct the problem of the plaque in your gums, it starts to attack itself. The bones that support the teeth begin to dissolve, and tissues are loosened and broken down. The gums separate from the teeth, so a gap is formed. All the while, you will feel little to no discomfort. Eventually, your teeth will become loose. They will either fall out, or have to be surgically removed.

Plaque is the main cause of gum disease, but there are other factors that will increase your likelihood of getting it. It is a genetic problem, so if anyone in your family has suffered from it then you should be especially diligent in keeping your teeth clean. Poor nutrition and diabetes will make it harder for your body to get rid of the plaque that builds up, making it more apt to get beneath your gums. Last but not least, smoking greatly increases your risk for periodontal disease. In fact, doctors are saying it could be the most significant risk factor when determining how likely you are to get gum disease.

So you should do everything you can to prevent yourself from getting gum disease. It is extremely debilitating, and can ruin your smile. So eliminate as many risk factors as you can, and step up your oral hygiene. Keep your mouth clean, and your teeth can live long, healthy lives, and you won't have to worry about losing them to plaque-related diseases that you could have prevented.
How To Cure Gum Disease
When you have a problem that is accompanied by pain, it is simple to spot and take action before it's too late. With gingivitis symptoms, you are leftis is usually painless, although the gums may be red, swollen, and bleed easily with brushing. There can also be a bad taste in the mouth or persistent bad breath (halitosis). In advanced stages of gingivitis, the gums recede, exposing the nerve roots, and the teeth may become loose. This may be an indication of periodontitis.

Other therapies

Treatment usually involves a regimen of good oral hygiene, including correct tooth brushing, flossing, and professional cleanings. Severe cases might require gum surgery.

A folic mouthwash can reduce gingivitis symptoms

Treatments for gingivitis(http://concernrelated.mitamins.com/GERD-Digestive-Health/treatments-for-gingivitis.html) include both mouthwashes and toothpastes with special natural ingredients. Folic acid used as a mouth rinse has reduced gum inflammation and bleeding in people with gingivitis in tests. The folic acid solution is rinsed in the mouth or can even be taken as a gingivitis treatment in capsule or tablet form. However, the best form of gum disease treatment is liquid or gel. A daily oral rinse with a liquid folic acid preparation inhibited gum disease more than either folic acid in pill form.

The vitamin route to gum health(http://www.mitamins.com/)

People who are deficient in vitamin C may be at increased risk for periodontal disease. When a group of people with periodontitis were given a huge booster of vitamin C, their gingivitis symptoms were lessened significantly. So it truly makes sense for people who have a low vitamin C intake to supplement with vitamin C(http://www.mitamins.com/) in order to improve gingival health.

Herbal toothpastes work

Bloodroot contains alkaloids, principally sanguinarine, that are sometimes used in toothpaste and other oral hygiene products because they inhibit oral bacteria.24 25 Sanguinarine-containing toothpastes and mouth rinses have had tremendous effects in trials. Toothpaste containing sage oil, peppermint oil, chamomile tincture, expressed juice from Echinacea purpurea, myrrh tincture, and rhatany tincture has been used in managing gingivitis. Of the many herbs listed above, chamomile, echinacea, and myrrh are best. These three herbs can provide anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial actions critical to successfully treating gingivitis.
