Just as you think you have finally got the last of your acne spots cleared up it rears its ugly head again. Are you sick and tired of the battle with acne on an almost daily basis? There is of course a reason for your break outs and you simply have to find out just what it is. Normally this is by a process of elimination. The problem could be as simple as the soap you use. It could also have a lot to do with the type of skin you have. These forms of acne are normally fairly easy to clear up. Once you get bad acne cleared up however it may well have left you with scars.
If your acne disappears only to leave scars on your face, what are you to do? No one wants to have scars on their face. The worst scars will probably be from the acne that was harder to clear up or that you did not care for properly.
This is the worst thing you can do when your face breaks out. The best method of clearing your face, is to wash it, put either an over the counter medicine on it or a prescription medicine, whichever you have had the best results with, and leave it alone.
If however, you end up with scars and are mortified and need to get rid of them, there may be a few options that you can try. Before trying any method for getting rid of acne scars, you should consult your doctor. He can advise you on what might be the best treatment for you. Remember you only have one face so be very careful.
Let us take a look at some examples of the most common types of scar removal treatment available.
One of the most commonly used treatments for removing scars is dermabrasion in which the skin is first anesthetized and then a high speed brush is used to remove layers of your skin and, along with them, your acne scars. Once your skin recovers the scarring will either be gone or will be much less visible than it was before the treatment.
Laser treatment is often the option for some people. Using carbon dioxide lasers can take care of both the size of the scars and their outline especially if they are curved or irregular. Sometimes this can work in one laser treatment but the skin will not be completely clear for a few weeks since the burning of the skin tissue is how this works.
There is a surgerical option to remove deep and pitted acne scars. This technique is known as punching. The scar is removed by cutting down into the fat layer below the surface of the skina and the hole made is then either stitched closed or a skin graft is applied.
Some scars may not disappear by using dermabrasion and the pink or red acne scars which sometimes remain are called keloids. Indeed, treatments for regular acne can occasionally cause keloids to form. For this type of acne scarring a steroid type of drug can be applied to the skin around the scar or injected into the area of the scar. This type of acne scar can be hard to treat and success depends very much on your particular type of skin.
How To Get Rid Of Old Scars
LCD monitors are rapidly replacing the old cathode ray tube (CRT) type monitors. LCD displays (a.k.a. TFT, or flat panel) use substantially less electricity; a typical CRT uses more energy whilst on standby than a LCD does when switched on. Other advantages are that LCDs have a fraction of the weight of CRTs, and they require a lot less desk space. These are the factors that are driving the heavy, clunky CRTs out of the market.
With all the electricity you save, you might think that you are being environmentally friendly by switching to a LCD. However, there are some dos and don'ts to minimise the environmental impact on getting rid of your CRT screen. Just chucking it in the regular trash means that it will end up buried in a landfill site. CRT monitors contain heavy metals such as lead, which you should avoid sending to landfill at all costs. It will poison the water supply and this takes many decades to be reversed.
Many people think that CRTs are so old hat that you can't even give them away, but this is not strictly true. Photographers on a budget are big fans of the CRT monitor, since it is able to display colours very accurately. LCD screens are notorious for there inferior colour and contrast performance.
I have heard horror stories which clearly illustrate the shortcomings of LCD screens. One of the worst cases I have heard about was from a professional photographer who was using an iMac with an LCD screen. He had spent the best part of a whole day retouching a photo in Photoshop and had finally got it just the way he wanted. When the photo was printed, the result was nothing like he expected ? it looked far too dark. It turned out that he had the display angle just slightly wrong and so it looked brighter than it actually was. This sort of problem would never have happened on a CRT screen.
One of the best ways of shifting a CRT monitor is to list it on Freecycle.org. You won't be able to get any money for it, because only free listings are allowed. On the other hand, your screen will be going to a good home and it will be collected from your doorstep at your own convenience. As a very last resort, take your monitor to your local recycling centre. They will ensure that it is disposed of responsibly.
