3. Should I get that kid in our family who is always in his basement by himself.
Maybe I'm exaggerating a little bit with the third one but honestly, coming up with a good website can be challenging.
For a guy like me, I only make sites that work - what I mean by that is I'm strictly an internet marketer so I don't really care that much about the looks. As long as it does the job and has a very decent conversion ratio, I'm fine.
But for the first timer, here are a few options to consider. If you don't have any time at all but you got the money, go to Rent A Coder and hire yourself someone for almost 95% less then you would in a developed country such as the UK or countries in North America.
I recently got a guy who made us a beautiful working site for just $50 US bucks. To say my client was static would be an understatement. Although their are a lot of other sites, Rent A Coder pretty much takes the cake. They really know what they are doing and I can't recommend them enough.
Now if you don't have the bucks but can actually put in a little bit of time in, then trust me, you can do it yourself. This is where something called a CMS or Content Management System comes in. A content management system is basically a website in a box. You don't need a programmer or any programming knowledge and you can get started right off the bat with very basic internet knowledge.
I recommend only two CMS systems that you should test out yourself. Wordpress and CMS Made Simple. Wordpress is the most flexible and it comes with so many themes that you can download for free. Theme is basically the look of the site and you can choose from thousands. A lot of people think its great for blogs but not actual websites.
The most recent site I designed was in wordpress and I have to tell you, when I learned how to make custom templates for each page, I was in a different world. However, if you are not that big on the look, then get CMS Made Simple. You can modify the look by using cascade style sheets and go from their. By the way, CMS Made Simple finally got recognized this year as the number three most useful CMS out there.
So as you can see, designing a website is easier then you think and no coders required. Did I mention that the CMS systems I mentioned are 100% free to download!
