By adding special anti-drying oil into your bath, chances are, you can help to soothe your skin and makes them soft. Try an emulsifying emollient like BP which is specially designed for to keep skin lubricated and firm. Just taper a few drops of the oil into your bathtub and make sure the water is lukewarm and not hot. Hot water dissipates the nutrients and can further aggravate your dry skin, causing itching skin instead.
Scratching dry itchy skin is a bad idea. Sometimes when a person scratches the itch becomes worse, so they scratch more. The result can be a rough patch of thickened skin that looks darker than the rest of the body. Doctors have an unpronounceable name for this condition - lichen simplex chronicus. It doesn't have anything to do with the lichen that grow on rocks. If you've been diagnosed with the disorder, you may have thought it was some sort of a parasite because of the word lichen in the name. Rest assured, all it means is that you've succumbed to the urge to scratch too much! Finding a medicine that stops the itching, such as one containing MSM or cortisone, will help you overcome the urge.
Eczema is a general skin disorder that has symptoms of itching skin cracking, skin irritation and even dryness of the skin with bleeding as well. There are four types of eczema such as Atopic eczema, Allergic Contact Dermatitis, Irritant Contact Dermatitis, and Infantile Sebarrhoeic eczema. Too much scratching and infection of the skin can result to an atopic eczema. This form of eczema is most likely hereditary.
To keep your complexion looking good, try to include more fresh fruit into your diet. Keep chocolates to a minimum. It's not scientifically proven that chocolates are bad for skin but a low fat diet definitely is. Unless the chocolate you eat is fat-free, it's best to keep snacks like this as an occasional treat. Try to drink at least 2 litres of water to keep your skin supple and hydrated.
Hydrocortisone is a very powerful substance. Only use hydrocortisone under the supervision of a physician. One of the main reasons is that it can result in your skin become drier and make your itching even worse.
There is other popular anti-itchy products design as part of the anti-itch products. These are typically meant for skin ailments like poison ivy and weepy skin conditions.
Stick to the skin care products which suit you most, try to do a patch test when trying to start a new skin care product. Switch to a new brand only when necessary due to skin changes, most importantly after 6-8 months of using the current skin care brand. Do not be tempted to try new skin care products after watching television advertisements. If you wish to do so, get some samples and try it on the neck area or hands.
Tomato juice may also play a role in this bothersome skin condition. Although the majority of people opt for a glass of orange juice in the morning, if you have eczema it may be worthwhile to switch over to tomato juice. It's said to help calm the skin down and reduce the itchiness that is so often associated with eczema and many other skin conditions too. You'll also benefit from the nutritional value of the juice itself.
How To Stop Itching
According to the experts there are several things to look for on your body to determine if you may be infected with skin parasites.
? Non healing lesions or sores.
? Fibers or filaments on skin at various non-healing sites where the skin parasites reside. You can see it with the use of a jeweler's loop and they are also fluorescent under a ultra violet light.
? Cotton-like balls on your body without any reasonable explanation.
? Intense itching skin.
? Stinging or biting.
? Hair loss.
? Chronic fatigue.
? Brain fog.
? Hard nodules under the skin.
? Fibromyalgia or joint swelling and pain.
? Black specs on the skin and bed sheets.
? Presence of tiny strawberry type of spots--look like bright red blood spots just under the skin.
Any three or more of these symptoms are associated with the Morgellons parasite plus a co infection of protozoan and or Lyme disease.
Morgellons is just one of several skin parasites that reek havoc on the skin causing itching and biting symptoms that are relentless. Other parasites that cause some of the same symptoms are:
? Collembola (Spring tails)
? Strongyloides stercoralis'a nematode
Which ones are present is not easily diagnosed. In fact there are no recognized diagnostic procedures for Collembola and Morgellons and most doctors, upon examination of the skin, diagnose the problem as stress, being in your imagination, anxiety, general nervousness, Rosacea's Red Face, or worse yet that you have acrophobia--enough to drive one away from managing stress to anxiety panic attack.
There is a antibody blood serum test available for Strongyloides stercoralis. A laboratory in Tucker GA, Parasitic Disease Consultants 2177 Flintstone Dr. Suite J, Tucker GA 30084 will perform the test for about $75. The phone number is 770-496-1370. But don't hold your breadth; even if it's diagnosed as Strongyloides, doctors are very unfamiliar with its treatment. Whereas they prescribe antibiotics for bacterial infections like candy, they are totally unfamiliar with the use of wormers and may not prescribe the correct one or the right dosage.
And then again, since these parasites weaken one's immune functioning, other parasites such as collembola may have joined the fray complicating the treatment. In fact, for both Collembola and Morgellons there is no recognized treatment by the CDC--they are just beginning to research Morgellons.
To further complicate matters, usually these parasites are carriers of Lyme, Protozoan and or Toxoplasma gondii (organism often found in cat feces). These organisms further compromise immune functioning complicating the process of any medical treatment.
There are only a few physicians nationally who are aware of Morgellons and Lyme disease. They treat the Lyme disease, protozoan, and the toxoplasma gondii with long term antibiotics, anti fungals, and anti protozoan meds in the hope that as these infections are treated the immune functioning becomes strong enough to free the body of the parasites. To further complicate matters, most diagnostic laboratories test negative for chronic Lyme for many different reasons. Only Bowen Labs in Tarpoon Springs FL thru the use of microscopy at 727-037-9077 is one that I'd recommend.
To date, I haven't heard of anyone being cured of skin parasites from this approach--it's more like "keep things from worsening." As far as the Lyme disease goes, the medical profession has a huge controversy re this long term treatment of Lyme with antibiotics. Alternative therapies using Cat's Claw, Taurox along with selected vitamins and diet are thought by some experts to be as effective as the long term antibiotics.
Being infected with these parasites is a living hell?perhaps like Job's experience in the Old Testament of the Holy Bible. But what's even worse, is that some of these parasites are extremely contagious. One person inadvertently gave them to her sister by exchanging dresses at a wedding; many infected from simply living in the same household; some infected from sitting in an infected chair?
In desperation one generally goes to the internet for solutions which is where one wants to be cautious. Everyone who has had some success with some kind of parasite claims to have some kind of regime for dealing with parasites?some harmless and inexpensive and some as much as $1,600 claiming cure.
Cure is a relative word. Cure after simply a few months exposure can be accomplished with basic diet and some specific inexpensive skin creams. Cure after years of exposure is highly unlikely at today's level of understanding. After having suffered for approximately two years I discovered a dietary connection. There are foods that feed skin parasites and foods that starve them. The trick is to eat the foods that starve them and avoid the foods that feed them. The diet has kept me symptom free and healthy for fifteen years and yes, I've tried everything which is what my e-book entitled Soothing the Itch Within and the Diet to Control It is all about. Through the years dozens of other sufferers have gained benefit from the diet and have become symptom free. And what's even more valuable in addition to the e-book, there is a regular update available with new information as to what is working and what is not working'we (many subscribers contribute with feedback) keep on top of scams and share products that work and those that are a waste of time. Here is just one of nearly a hundred testimonials. "I've also sent your e-mail address to Ginger Savely, my nurse practitioner and foremost Morgellons "RX Doctor" so that she may relay your fantastic e-news to her patients world-wide. Your Parasite-Lyme Diet has helped me immensely."
