Interview Tips For Teachers

    View:
For the first time job seekers, the first interview is reason enough to feel all jittery and nervous. Call for your first interview can lead to mixed emotions of excitement, anticipation and nervousness. Since you are going for fresher jobs, chances are that there will be many candidates for one vacancy. Thus, you have to make sure that you have to make your mark in that interview. Also, since freshers have no past experience to show, it is only their qualifications and their personality that they have to bank on to get that fresher job.

For entry-level jobs, the general interview questions are more or less the same. With a little help and preparation, freshers can learn how to effectively face that barrage of questions where some are easy, others are tricky, and each one is designed in a manner to elicit key information from you. Freshers need to develop the mindset and the skill to answer with quick, convincing and on-the-feet kind of responses that show their smart-mindedness and confidence. In this article, we have listed some key questions or can say some interview tips with a guide to effective answers that can help you land that fresher job.

The most common question asked is: ?Tell me about yourself?. It is an open-ended question and is your best chance to represent yourself in appositive light and leave a good impression on the recruiter. Some interviewees do the mistake of answering this question with loads of personal information and little about their suitability for the job. If you have read the job description properly, you can use this question effectively to your own advantage. Here you must talk about your strengths as a student and your vision of your career. Tell them about what important lessons you have learnt as a student that can help you while being on this job. You must also talk about any volunteer work that you undertook as a student or any community that you joined and displayed leadership skills and about your ability to take initiatives.

To gauge your strengths, the interviewer may ask you what your strengths are. As a reply to this question, you can elucidate with examples how you enjoy taking up new challenges and about your ability to tackle them in a focused and organized manner. This trait is required in all types of job profiles so, it will make a good impression on the recruiter. You may also want to talk about your ability to persevere and find unique solutions to problems. However, all that you say must be backed with real examples as just talking in air would completely defeat the purpose.

After the strengths, some interviewees tend to probe your weaknesses. This is a tricky question but you can turn it to your advantage. So, you must enlist your ?good? weaknesses, instead of saying that you are lazy or lose temper quickly. So, you could say that you don't like leaving any work in middle and for that reason sometimes, you end up neglecting your personal life. Also, you could mention that you get impatient when people do not deliver on promises and deadlines which shows that you are yourself committed to deliver productively.

Then, the interviewer might ask you why you are fit for the job. This is to assess how you rate yourself differently from the rest of the candidates. This is not the time to get modest and understate your good qualities. Instead, you must play on what sets you apart from the crowd. You must also highlight the skills that would be fit for the job advertised. So, you could mention some skills like your ability to plan things in advance and execute long-term projects; your ability to organize information and data; your ability to research on issues pertaining to work and your ability to work well in a team. You could also talk about how well you adapt to different situations and challenges and these little things can easily help you grabbing jobs for freshers.

.

Once the interviewer is done with his questions, it is time for you to ask questions to the recruiter. Ask intelligent questions about the job profile and the vision of the company. Also, you could ask questions related to detailed information on the organizational structure or the services and products offered by the company. You could also ask about their training and mentorship programmes. However, it would not be good to ask about your salary or first appraisal at this time. It is only after you have been selected that you should ask questions related to your compensation.
Interview Tips For Teachers
As a freelance writer, I am often required to interview various officials and experts to get to the heart of a story. Face-to-face interviews are always ideal when doing research for an article, but sometimes it simply isn't possible due to time constraints or geography. Phone interviews can be equally effective though, if you plan ahead.

Here are a few phone interviewing tips that have helped me along the way:

1. Schedule the interview in advance, but plan to be ready when you make the initial call in case your subject has time to talk when you phone.

2. Plan most of your questions in advance, and provide them to your subject via e-mail when possible. This may not always be appropriate, particularly in the case of an investigative report, but it is quite helpful when interviewing for a business or personal profile. This helps your interview subject prepare for the call. You can always ad lib as other questions arise during your conversation.

3. Tell the interviewee who you are writing for, what the article is about, the general premise of the article, and when it is planned for publication. Let him know that this information might change and, if so, you'll provide him with status updates. This is particularly helpful if your editor pushes your story from the April issue to the June issue, for example.

4. Record your phone conversation. Get permission from the interviewee, and assure her that the recording is only for your notes and will not be shared with anyone else. Even if you take stellar notes, it is good to be able to go back to the original conversation to clarify items or to jot down notes or quotes that you may have missed.

5. Allow yourself to pause as you jot down notes and quotes. You'll find that your interviewee will likely fill the silence, answering questions you haven't even asked yet or providing information you hadn't considered.

6. I conclude every interview with this question: "Is there anything I should have asked you but didn't?" This is different than the typical "do you have anything to add?" question, and can prompt the interviewee to really think about what he wishes he had said but that didn't come up during our conversation.

7. Get permission to follow-up if you have additional questions, and let the interviewee know how to reach you if he or she has information to add or back-up documentation to provide.

8. Thank the interviewee in writing. E-mail is the trend these days, but I prefer sending a handwritten thank you note along with my business card.

9. Unless your editor requests it, do not provide an advance copy of your article to your interview subject for review. Some publications allow this, but many do not.

By following these tips, you can ensure a successful phone interview with even the most difficult of subjects.
