Janitorial Equipment And Supplies

    View:
Recommended Supplies and Janitorial Equipment:

EPA Registered Cleaner/Disinfectant

All-Purpose Detergent Cleaner

Dust Mop Frame and Handle

Treated Dust Mop Head

Dust Pan and Counter Brush

Scraper/Putty Knife

Wet Floor Sign(s)

(2) Mop Buckets/Wringers

Mop Head(s)

Mat(s)

Recommended Method:

As in all cleaning procedures, the first step is to gather the recommended janitorial equipment together and bring to the area to be cleaned.

First, dust mop floor area with a treated dust mop.

For the safety of patients and visitors, place wet floor signs at a distance of one every 30 feet and place the bucket and wringer in the center of about a 60 foot section which is to be mopped.

Mentally divide the corridor into 4 sections, each about 30 feet long and ? the width of the corridor.

Wring the mop out until it is damp in the solution bucket. The mop should be damp, but not dripping wet. Otherwise, it will take too long to dry.

Mop the baseboard from the center to the end of the section being worked on. Then mop from the baseboard to the center of the corridor. This quarter of the section is S-Stroked back to the bucket and wringer.

Return the mop to the rinse bucket and wring the mop out. Then return the mop to the solution bucket and wring the mop until damp. Begin the second-quarter section on the same side of the corridor by mopping the baseboard to the end of the section. This quarter of the section is then S-Stroked back to the bucket and wringer.

Return the mop to the bucket and wring the mop out until damp. Begin the third-quarter section on the other side of the corridor across from the first section by mopping the baseboard to the end of the section. This quarter of the section is then S-Stroked back to the bucket and wringer.

Once again, return the mop to the bucket and wring the mop out until damp. Begin the fourth-quarter section and final quarter of the corridor by mopping the baseboard to the end of the section. Mop this quarter of the section using the S-Stroke back to the bucket and wringer.

Return the mop to the bucket. Repeat as needed. Clean all janitorial equipment thoroughly and return to the storage area.
