If you're writing for a non-discerning audience, you can probably get away with a couple of grammar errors. When you're trying to craft your piece to make an impression, however, you'd want to shine that writing into a polish. Come that time, a vocabulary of words that are colloquial at best and made up at worst won't exactly serve you.
Do you ever make any of these common mistakes with your writing? Now might be a good time to drop them from your regular use.
Using irregardless as a word
Irregardless is not a word. Regardless, on its own, already means ?without regard.? What, then, does irregardless mean? It means you're not a good English writer, that's what!
Adding the suffix -wise to everything
Lots of common words end in ?-wise.? That doesn't give you the license, however, to affix it to everything. Words like ?specs-wise? and ?profit-wise? have no place in formal business writing, or for any form of writing in general.
Using gift as a verb
Some nouns may be used as a verb but gift, with the many action forms that can be used to express an act of giving, isn't one of them. Instead of saying ?We gifted him with a new toy,? you can use presented, gave, awarded, provided, confer and many more. Run your English grammar software through that sentence and stumble upon about a dozen alternative words you can use instead.
When writing any sort of piece, whether it be an article or a report, using the right words can mean the difference between a compelling read and a tedious bore. Unnecessarily repeating words, even when they bear the correct meaning, can leave your writing bland and wanting in quality.
Take this paragraph as an example:
Gadget freaks, rejoice! The company has announced that the gadget will shoot videos in native HD resolution, which you can then stream to your HD-ready TV sets for full HD enjoyment.
Contrast it to this, which replaces repeated words across the text:
Gadget freaks, rejoice! The company has announced that the device will shoot videos in native 1080p resolution, which you can then stream to your HD-ready TV sets for a complete high-def viewing experience.
How many times can you repeat a word? Generally, avoiding use of the same word within the same sentence or the one immediately after it can endow your piece with added readability. In its place, you can use a pronoun or another term that carries the same meaning.
When trying to find words that can express the same idea, there's no better tool to use than a thesaurus. Simply look for the word you're intending to substitute and look for a suitable replacement. Many English grammar software applications come with a built-in thesaurus that you can use as reference while writing your piece. The software will also likely recognize excessive repetition in your text and suggest replacements from it.
This simple trick of avoiding the use of the same words over and over can facilitate tremendous improvements in your writing.
Japanese Words And Phrases
When marketing your new internet business try using the phrase "invest in our product" instead of the standard "purchase" or "buy". This will make readers feel they're investing in their future if they spend their money on your product. You should also tell people how much others have benefited from your product by showing testimonials of people who have used the product and seen the benefits or made money .
Include the word "simple/easy/straightforward" in your ad. People love straightforward ordering, easy payments, easy instructions, simple to use, etc. For example, you could always say, "It's the easiest way to lose some weight!" Another example would be, "Order before our buy one get one free sale finishes!" To get your new internet business of the ground you should at least try this tactic a couple of times.
Always use logos and slogans for your new internet business. They make it easier for people to remember and identify your business. This is called branding, for example, how many times have you had a problem or need and the first thing that pops into your mind is a remembered business logo or slogan. It's really like an automatic reaction and this is why Big Companies spend millions 'branding' their product. This is more of a long term benefit to your new internet business but vital nonetheless.

Always try and get the word "free" in your ad somewhere. People are used to free incentives before they do business on the internet. They can be free e-books, services, accessories, etc. You might say. " Free shipping with every order over $100!" This may seem strange but always put emotional words and phrases in your advertisements. Use words like freedom, love, fun, security, relief, happy, satisfaction, etc. An example would be, "Imagine meeting the love of your life and feeling the joy of happiness. You'll have the security and peace of mind of knowing you won't be alone again." Purchases are nearly always based on emotion rather than hard nosed facts. Exploit this and your new internet business will flourish.
Always use the word "guaranteed" in your ad. People want to be assured they are not risking their hard-earned money buying your product. For example, you could say, "Our product comes with a 90-day money-back guarantee!" Another example would be, "Don't forget our product comes with a lifetime guarantee!" If you are a new internet business then this step is vital to give you some credibility.
Try the word "limited" in your ad. People perceive products that are exclusive or rare to be considered to be more valuable. For example, you could say, "This special edition will be limited to the first 500 who order!" Another example would be, "Order before (date) to get this limited version of our e-book!" Your new internet business could really benefit from this tactic.
Always show your readers how much enthusiasm you have for your product and business and write accordingly. If you can convince your reader that YOU are enthusiastic about your product then they will be enthusiastic too. For example, you can say, "I'm REALLY EXCITED about our new widget!" Another useful example could be, "I can't wait for You to experience these results!" Enthusiasm is an emotion and you need to create these positive, exciting emotions in your readers whether in email marketing on on your web page. Manage this and your new internet business will become an established internet business in no time.
