Keyword Rich Articles Drive More Traffic To Your Websites

    View:
Almost about everybody with a splattering knowledge of English and some free time on their hands is getting into freelance content writing nowadays. It seems to be easiest job in the world. You have to open several websites, get the information you want, rearrange their words and sequence, pop in the keyword about a dozen times, fit the word count and hey presto! You have your article for the web.

Is it really that easy but to make an article? Well, if it were, then people all around would have been giving up their day jobs and writing articles for the internet. The fact of the matter is, though it is perhaps easy to write an article for the Internet, it is not that easy to get the desired results.

Let us see why the content writing market has increased so much today. This increase is in direct commensuration with the proliferation of the internet in our everyday lives. Today, everything from soaps to cruises is being sold online. Every company worth its salt has a website and an online shopping facility. However, companies need to draw the attention of internet shoppers to their sites. Only then will they be able to make sales through their sites.

Think about it. When you need to buy something online, what do you do? Most likely, you go to a search engine like Google, Yahoo, Ask or Altavista and type in the item you are searching for. You might be seeking a debt consolidator. So you would type ?debt consolidation? in the seek bar. You will then get several search results. If you look closely, all these search results will point at articles with the keyword ?debt consolidation? in them. When you click on them, you will be guided to that article. On the same page there would be a link to buy the services of the debt consolidator. Now if you like the article, chances are that you would go ahead with the consolidating service.

Here's the catch! You have the article on the website, but it must be good enough to make the person decide about buying your product. Or else, the article would be in vain. The visitor would just go back and select another search result. Hence, it is very important to bear in mind that your article, apart from giving the information it is pertaining to, must also be like a subtle advertisement for the product. It is necessary to know the purpose for which you are writing the article. Is the website trying to sell something? If yes, then the article must have enough draws to make the visitor click on the ?buy? button.

If your article intends to be an advertisement for the product, then shouldn't it behave like one? Your article should certainly have dollops of attitude. Now what does that mean? Let us clarify.

Writing articles is not just pinching stuff from elsewhere and rehashing it into a new look. When you set out to write an article, you must certainly do the adequate research on it. Read about ten good articles on the subject. When reading, do not start your own article. When you have done this reading, you will know enough about the subject matter to begin. This is when you start sequencing your points. Decide in advance how you would break up your paragraphs. When done, begin writing. Do not read the websites you have referred to when writing; use them only for referring to factual information when needed. Use your own thoughts, your own observations and your own insights. Take the fact as the core and weave your own ideas around it. Your own article ? indeed ?own? ? will begin to take shape.

An article with an attitude bears the mark of the writer. It is unique and hence, more in demand. Readers like to read about what the writer thinks about the product, rather than just being bombarded with facts. Bare statistics mean nothing if the writer has not tried to interpret them in a simple language. Hence, the article should not just be a chunk of words; it should be like a human tutor trying to explain the pros and cons of the issue.

If your article is honest about what it says, then the reader will gain faith in the website itself. Needless to say, this is a great way of building up a clientele. Never sing praises about the product you are selling; tell about the negative aspects also. You must know that the reader already knows the pluses and minuses of what they are looking out for.
