LG 7050 is a metallic sliding keyboard cell phone that's the size of a small candy bar. The G 7050 departs from the normal looks that LG imparts to its handsets and is a kind of slider. It has an integrated VGA camera with resolution of 640 x 480 and a 350 Kb of shared memory for MMS and Java Apps. The handset also has separate memory for SMS; about 100 messages can be stored in the phone in addition to the capacity of the SIM card.

Features and Specifications

The phone comes alive every time you pull the keyboard down. It has every feature you'd expect from a smart phone. The LG 7050 has a large 128 x 160 pixel 65 000 color display which is obscured by the retractable keypad.WAP over GPRS, MMS, integrated digital camera, infrared connectivity, Java support and can synchronize with Microsoft Outlook. The phone supports voice dialing and pronounces your key presses, which is pretty cool because the keys are very small. It's made for hands free usage, and has different profiles for different situations. The presets are very useful for a professional who has a meeting, or uses the phone in a car. The phone allows you to store 200 names (with 5 phone numbers for each name) in the address book.

The biggest criticism for this phone stems from the fact that it has very little storage space. From what we can tell, it has 350 KB shared memory storage, for MMS messages and Java apps. That's 750 KB short of a megabyte. For a handset with a 640 x 480 camera, this isn't right. That makes it lose a few brownie points in our tally. Audio Playback: The LG G7050 does not come with an MP3 player. This phone comes with built in polyphonic ringtones, which means you can download simple MIDI files from the Internet and upload them through your phone, or simply download them via GRPS (if GRPS is built in). We do not recommend purchasing polyphonic ringtones from pay-per-use services such as television commercials, because the G7050 is capable of receiving them as MIDI files which are common on the Internet. Video and Picture Taking: The LG G7050 does have a camera. Messaging and Internet: The LG G7050 is capable of surfing the Internet with the built in browser of the phone. With this phone, you may also send MMS, or Multimedia Message Service. The phone is also able to use EMS, or Enhanced Message Service. On top of sending messages, the LG G7050 is equipped with intelligent t9 typing, which allows you to easily type text messages without pressing each key upto 4 times for the correct letter. The LG G7050 comes fully equipped with a WAP browser, and additionally an HTML browser for normal web page surfing.. Including support for java. Connectivity and Interactivity: With the G7050, you can use Bluetooth, Infrared, or a USB cable to connect to and interact with other devices.

Conclusion

While it's a unique candy bar, the novelty of the sliding keypad wears off over time and its flaws become more noticeable. Fortunately, this phone is well-positioned with its attractive pricing .The 7050 might not have any gee whiz features, but it's pretty competent. Bundled in with the camera are a range of accessories; a strap, a battery, an adapter, a portable hands free headset, and a data cable kit. As far as the looks are concerned, the LG 7050 looks a little old school with the external antenna sticking out, but the sliding keypad and the color screen give the phone appeal.
