Unrecognized by most, but a known fact for many is that motherhood is one of the toughest, hardest and most demanding?jobs? a person can have. Often going unappreciated for years a mother will still go about her daily chores day after day after day. Unlike other jobs motherhood is not a 9-5 job five days a week, rather a 24/7 job 365 days a year. In truth, not many people, except mothers, could keep up with this amount of time put into their ?job?.



How many of you mothers out there wouldn't love to see your significant other do what you do in a day? How many Mr. Moms would in reality be able to cope and manage all that an everyday mother does? No offence to all you great fathers out there because there are plenty of you but on an average no dad could measure up to what is expected of a mother whether she is a stay at home mom or a working career woman. No bell will ring for her where she can just kick off her shoes, sit down and have a beer while she is relaxing for the rest of the night.

Have you as a father really stepped back for a day really to look what the mother of your children has to accomplish in a days work? If you have small children her day probably starts way before you even get up for work. By the time dad gets up mom has probably all ready changed, dressed and fed the baby as well as cleaned up all the mess the baby made while eating. Not only this but most likely you wake up to coffee made and breakfast too.

From the time dad leaves until he gets home don't for a minute think that mom sits and enjoy herself the rest of the day. No sir, there are clothes to be washed and put away, shopping has to be done so you can have the food you like in the house, lunch has to be made for your kids, then there is the clean up after that. After this there probably is some cleaning of the house that needs to be done, it is unbelievable how much mess a kid can make. Following this it might be time to start thinking of what's for dinner, you do expect dinner on the table when you get home don't you?

Between attending to a child and getting dinner ready it can take some time to get it ready. After dinner who cleans up the dishes, after all you had a long day at work so you ?need? to relax for a while, sound familiar? Well, after you have relaxed for a while it may be getting a little late and bed time for your child is coming up which means bath time. Who normally does this in your household, you or your wife? Most of you know the answer to this already. It is now time to feed the baby once again before putting them to bed, which again requires clean up after.

All of this may not sound like a lot but don't forget in between doing all these things mom has to find some time to interact and play with the child. You may even notice, if you look around, that hardly anything needs to be fixed in the house, guess why? The mother has become quite a good handyman, repairman and fixer of all things. Most likely she also keep up the outside of the house, like the yard for example. In all honesty there is not much a mother does not do and if only a man would take on this challenge for even a week we would probably see a major change in attitude and appreciation for the task of motherhood.
