Most of birmingham's city centre was ruined during the 2nd world war, and unattractive replacement structures were hastily built. however, since the nineties, Birmingham has been undergoingsome radical changes and a number of the post-war structures have been replaced. most of the city centre is pedestrianised now, and the canals have also been tidied up to make them image nicer.
