HARBOUR HEIGHTS, Fla. (September 18, 2007) ? AfterCare Services of America (ASA), formerly Hospice AfterCare Services, will host two back-to-back weekend fundraisers on Saturday, October 13 and 20. The ?Greatest Gift in Life? Gala Dinner and Dance event will be held on October 13, while the ?World of Horsemanship? event will be held on October 20. The double-weekend fundraiser events will benefit the statewide nonprofit organization's mission to provide dignity in life and in death.
The Greatest Gift in Life Gala Dinner and Dance Fundraiser begins with a cocktail hour at 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. with dinner being served from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Guests and participants will dance the rest of the night away to live music provided by Ron and the Classics from Clearwater. A cash bar will be open for the evening and all proceeds benefit AfterCare Services of America. The gala will be held at the Dunedin Country Club at 1050 Palm Blvd.
All donations are tax-deductible and can be made in the memory of a loved one by request. To conclude the ASA back-to-back fundraising weekend, the World of Horsemanship fundraising event will be held on the following Saturday, October 20. The Big Oak Arena at 4153 Dowling Rd. in Middleburg, Fla. will host the World of Horsemanship starting at 9 a.m. Sponsors include the Crosby Stables and North Florida Area Horse Clubs.
Food, drinks and prizes are available all day during the event. Exhibitions of numerous horsemanship and breeds will be the main attraction for horse-lovers and families. Instructions and demonstrations are available from veterinarians on colic prevention measures to trainers on basic horsemanship and ground manners from North Florida Horse Rescue. Many more activities are available such as, a children's photo shoot on horseback, a fortuneteller, a live band and a party following the exhibitions.
Campers are welcomed for the entire weekend with a $20 donation. Vendors are welcome as well with a $50 donation. For all other attendees, admittance is a $20 donation. All other exhibitions include breed displays and activities: Bridleless Riding, Dressage, Halter (mixed breeds), Hunter-Jumper, Reining, Arabians at Liberty, Paso Fino Long Line Expo, English/Western Pleasure and many more.
All proceeds go to AfterCare Services of America, which provides veterans, Hospice patients and families in need with financial resources for a dignified cremation or funeral service.
