Oil Companies In Kazakhstan

    View:
Presidential candidate Ron Paul, the CIA and the 911 Commission have all indicated that the reason why terrorists would attack America is because of ?blowback?. A term meaning unintended consequences to America's foreign policy policies due to our aggressions in all regions of the world including the Middle East. If you have troops in 130 countries, have bombers fly over sovereign countries, exercise antagonistic trade policies, prop up dictators such as in Pakistan and other places then there will be unintended consequences.

As part of the blowback against anything American, countries like Venezuela and even Kazakhstan (primarily known in the Western world as the ?home? of outrageous comedic creation ?Borat?) have been taking increasingly aggressive stances against Western Oil companies.

One Western oil company entity was sued $600 million by Kazakhstan for something to do with sulfur while drilling hasn't even started in the country. Another entity has already been billed $7 billion for delays and cost overruns. This was a conglomerate including American companies and Western European companies. Meanwhile, Hugo Chavez has kicked several Western companies out of his country and there is concern about less than friendly actions taken against Western oil companies in Russia.

Meanwhile, rather than heed the warnings of Presidential candidate Ron Paul, the 911 Commission and of the Founding Fathers, the ?neoconservatives? (which include frontrunners McCain and Hillary and any other war mongers) are talking about staying in Iraq for 10-100 years and are still determined to bomb Iran.

So what does this mean for thee and me?

First it means that you are a silly optimist or are walking around with blinders if you expect fuel prices to do anything but continue to rise rapidly.

It also means that ?we are never gonna survive unless we get a little crazy? And, in this instance, ?a little crazy? means willing to do something different. Many people are doing something different with their car engines and are discovering that by doing this they freeing themselves from being a slave to oil companies and fuel prices.

They are converting their fuel engines to hydrogen engines fully or as a hybrid. Of course, this is done by using water to generate hydrogen fuel. It is remarkably easy, inexpensive and beneficial to do this conversion.. Benefits include greater fuel consumption in a hybrid or totally doing away with the need to buy fuel at all in a full conversion, also a better, cooler, happier running automoblie and no harmful emissions for the environment. I strongly suggest you research the subject. The information is easily accessible and you will be surprised at how easy it is to opt out of the fuel economy.

Gas companies and auto makers love it when you buy premium gas. They like it so much that they try to perpetuate myths about it. Myths like premium gas will lead to better fuel economy. Myths like High test gas will make your car perform better. Why do the gas companies and auto makers like premium so much?

Gasoline refiners and retailers like high octane gas because it's a lot more profitable for them than regular gas. You pay 20 cents more for premium gas while the retailer only pays about 8 cents more for that same gallon. That means the retailer makes an extra 12 cents on every gallon of high octane fuel he sells.

The refineries take in a few cents per gallon more on premium than on regular when they sell to distributors. When you realize that the few cents per gallon is multiplied by the tens of thousand of gallons of fuel that refineries sell, you can see that it adds up to a lot of extra profit.

The gas refineries and retailers are not the only ones that make more money from High octane fuel. Auto makers use premium gas to add to their profits too. One way they do that is by creating a higher perceived value for their cars.

If a car has to use high octane fuel it must have a more expensive engine therefore the car must cost more. Using that logic the car companies can get higher prices on some models by recommending only premium gas can be used in those models. This adds credibility to their contention that the car is worth more money.

Another benefit of premium gas that auto makers capitalize on is to take advantage of the anti-knock properties of high octane fuel. By designing engines to be optimized for that property of premium gas they can create engines that in fact do get more horsepower out of premium then out of regular.

Since there is some horsepower gain it allows the car makers to advertise higher horsepower ratings for their engines. Again, higher horsepower ratings means more expensive car which means more profit for the auto makers.

These optimized for high octane engines actually do put out a little more horsepower on premium than with regular. But most car experts and engineers seem to agree that if you use regular in a high octane rated engine, the difference in horsepower is so small, you probably can't tell.

Premium fuel does not increase fuel economy. Regular gas can be run in a so called high octane engine without any noticeable effect. In the end it all comes down to money. By convincing you that you need to use premium gas they are able to take more money out of your pocket and put it in theirs.
