We had an absolutely inspiring TEA Party event at the Boiling Springs Community Park with Dr Alan Keyes and Mr. Louis Ingram. I did not feel worthy to be on the same stage with these two men that have dedicated their lives to preserving and restoring The Constitution of the United States the way our Founding Father intended, but what an honor.
Almost everyone that I talked to before the event asked me how we were able to get Dr. Keyes to come to Boiling Springs as our key note speaker, truth is there are a couple of reasons. One is that Dr. Christina Jeffery is a friend of Alan's and asked him to come and while this provided us with an avenue of approach, it was not the only reason. Alan wanted to speak at a tea party that would not restrain his message of “Natures God” and the importance our founding fathers gave God in this country when they wrote The Declaration of Independence. Words like, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”. People who want to deny the fact that our founding fathers intended God to be at the center of our country are either trying to dilute The Constitution or have never read it. I really don't know why Alan chose to come to Boiling Springs.
Maybe because after reading several editions of this publication he knew the patriotic type people he would be speaking to. People who are not afraid to speak the name of God and people who want to read about God. Maybe it was because the patriotic leadership at Boiling Springs First Baptist Church was eager to have him speak at all 3 services when other large churches shied away, most likely in fear that it would violate the so called separation of church and state. If you want to hear a God filled message about what we Christians should be doing for our country and did not get to hear Alan speak, call the church at 578-2828 and ask for an audio copy. Maybe it was where God told Alan he needed to come and speak. Maybe it was all the above, which is what I think. I know one thing for certain; it was not because of the money. Alan could have scheduled at several other events that would have paid him a lot more than we were able to pay him. This speaks volumes about this man to me, as it should you. Alan Keyes is the real deal and if you were able to be with us at this event, you know that he is as well.
I am very surprised at our local media coverage or should I say lack of media coverage. One newspaper reported that there were several hundred in attendances while another reported 900 to 1000 attended. I don't know how they determined these moderate numbers except by guessing. I am glad that we had the foresight in having people register at this event to get a more accurate number which was 2019, a far cry from what was reported. Praise the Lord!!!
Tell me how our television stations found it more news worthy to cover Michael Jackson's death, for days on end, than it was to cover events all across this country with citizens protesting the socialistic take over of this country. You see this is an attempt at silencing the peoples' voice. Richard Salant, former president of CBS News was quoted to say, “ Our job is to give the people not what they want, but what we decide they ought to have”. It is difficult to understand the mindset of people who believe they have the authority to control the minds of others in this manner. I promise you, our readers that this magazine will continue to print the issues that threaten to take our country down the road to socialism, which is against the very notion of our founding fathers. As I said during my speech, “ I will not go quietly into the dark night of socialism, I will be heard and I will do what ever I can to protect our constitution”.
I want to thank all of you that came to our Freedom Day Tea Party. I know it was a blessing to you as it was to us. Thanks to all the people who volunteered as staff members, security members and to everyone who helped us set up and break down. I want to especial thank Mr. Cleon Graves and the Boiling Springs Community Park board members for allowing us the use of the park. This was a great way to share and spread the message of Louis Ingram and Dr. Keyes in an effort to get our country back to the principles our founding fathers intended for us. Planning A Tea Party
The first thing you need to do is make a list of all the people you are planning to invite. Help your child with this but remember, kids love to do this. Letting them decide on who gets to come to their teddy bears' tea party will make them feel very grown-up and in charge.
Try creating your very own invitations by cutting the paper into a teddy bear shape. Make sure you let everyone know that they must bring their teddy bear. In case someone forgets, you may want to have a few teddy bears handy.
Put a tablecloth over the table you'll be using and try to find a few teddy bear decorations. A large teddy bear in the center of the table would make a great center-piece and the kids will love it. Have a name plate for each child and their guest and don't forget that teddy needs to drink too. Remember teddy bears don't really drink, make sure you don't put anything in their cups or a child may try it.
As soon as everyone arrives you can have them all place their teddy bears in the chairs and begin with games. Teddy Bear- Teddy Bear is a fun game to play, pin the tail, For the pin the tail you may want to draw your own giant teddy bear and have the kids pin the bee on the nose. Let the kids have a fun time and then invite them over to the table for tea.
Make sure you have plenty of finger sandwiches for everyone. You don't need anything fancy, just slice up a few peanut butter and jelly sandwiches into fours. Milky tea is the perfect type to go with a teddy bears' tea party and don't forget the dessert. What bear doesn't like sweets?
