When you are more connected with yourself, your life purpose & are able to live this out through the work that you do, everything seems easier. There are some steps that you can start taking to help you reach that sense of simplification for yourself.
At work:
What projects are you involved in at the moment? Are they clearly linked to your objectives? It's good to review with your manager every so often the work that you do. Does it serve your purpose? Does it serve the purpose of the organisation? If not, is it just a case of making tweaks, or do you need to get really simple and get back to basics and either completely review and change, or even put a halt to it?
At your desk:
Can you find what you need? Think about how you file information. Is it an easy system or process you use that you could explain to others? If not, consider what makes you want to make it more complicated. What are the core elements that are important for you to have in reach on your desk? Have what you need at hand, and store everything else away. Review what you no longer need.
At home
Start with a room or a corner of a room, or even a cupboard at a time. Do you need all the STUFF that you have? Can you give benefit to others by giving it away? Are you holding onto old or unpleasant memories in what you are choosing to hold onto?
In your mind
Decluttering your mind is about finding and listening to your still, small voice. Connect to the sense of stillness, so you are more able to hear what is going on around you. Meditation is a great way to explore this. Start with just 5 minutes, get some quiet space on your own and focus on your breathing. There are some great resources on the internet to help you focus on meditation & awareness.
