There is no point of employees investing time in collecting, measuring and analyzing data for six sigma implementation, just to have management block the efforts because they don't believe them. Management should be both supportive and enthusiastic about an employees efforts to use six sigma to improve the processes of the company. Your commitment to the process should be clear and easy to understand for several reasons.
First, if you have others working in a team that will implement the process or you plan on passing the process on the someone else to continue. The plan for how to do the process, what you are currently doing, the end result, why we are doing it and costs savings associated with it should be easy enough to understand so that anyone can pick up where one left off.
Six sigma process will use statistical measurement to improve the process and its common used with the business has a high amount of output of end products, such as a mass manufacturing of a product. The end result of six sigma is to keep defect levels below 3.4 defects per million opportunities for a defect to occur.

Generally, the CEO or the executives will come up with the idea of Six Sigma implementation upon learning about its benefits. The executives will do a good job of spreading the awareness about the need to change and set the ball rolling with various activities - but the most important step is sustaining this level of activity.
It requires shared vision to have a large group of people to work towards attaining the goal. This would be possible if the communication of the target, the role and benefits to the person concerned is done effectively.

It is imperative to tackle the big hurdles in the early stages of the deployment, which will be morale boosters and provide an impetus to overcome further constraints throughout the organization.
Success Breeds Success
When there is a process change undertaken without any success, then there is a risk of loss of interest in the achievement of the goal. Even if there are short term wins, they help build up the confidence of the people involved.
Even those not a part of the Six Sigma change team will participate if they find that the goals are realizable. Also, the shareholders who have a stake in the company will be able to realize gains and have confidence in the company.
Leaders Required
Change brings about transformation of culture and the state of the company business. There has to be a leader amongst the many managers who are involved in the change process. There is a possibility of stagnation of the decision making process because of absence of leaders who can achieve breakthroughs in the change deployment process.
