After the launch of Sony Ericsson K800i, all mobile imaging enthusiast were expecting Sony Ericsson to come up with a flagship model. Especially after the launch of 5 megapixel camera phone from arch rival Nokia. However, Sony Ericsson decided against the one up manship and launched the Sony Ericsson K810i. The handset is not a flagship model, for there were only a few difference in the look and feel of the mobile phone compared to its earlier model, without much alteration in the phone's functionality and specifications.
The Sony Ericsson K810i looks a lot better than the Sony Ericsson K800i and its 3G-less variant – the Sony Ericsson K790i, which was released about the same time as the K800i. Most prominent difference between the Sony Ericsson K810i and K800i is their keypad. The Sony Ericsson K810i features rounded metallic buttons that give a unique look to this Cyber Shot phone. The Sony Ericsson K810i is much tinner than its earlier model, measuring just 17 mm in thickness. There is not much difference with its weight though the updated model manage to shed 5 grams and clock 110 grams.
