The Best Kitten Food

    View:
The newborn kitten will have a lot of things to do in order to grow up; every kitten will grow amazingly rapidly in the first months and the Kitten Food should be chosen according to the stage of life. Even a puppy will require a special Dog Diet in order to grow and develop his immune system. Every pet's body has to grow and manufacture teeth, hair, muscle and bones. The highest quality diet and nutrition are to be provided. The kitten nutrition is likely to be slightly different from the puppy's needs. All the kittens will prove themselves to be quite curious and they will need extra energy in order to satisfy this curiosity when it comes to their environment. Minerals and vitamins must be provided in order to maintain the natural process of growth. The kittens have a special need, namely a unique requirement for a substance called taurine. Taurine is an essential amino acid that is responsible for ensuring the kitten's vision and heart development.

Every kitten will have a small stomach that will require small amounts of food; small amounts of food are to be given and they should suit all the kitten's eating habits. Cats are usually regarded as natural grazers; they will not adapt to having a single meal on a daily basis. The food is to be maintained at the room temperature because cats are likely to prefer this type of food. The kitten should not be fed directly from the owner's fridge and every food should be let to warm a little bit. By the time the kitten has reached 12 weeks, his transition to the solid Kitten Food should be complete.

The owner may choose from different products that are to be found on the current market; there are many foil trays, pouches and even tinned food is available. Dry complete varieties are also to be considered because this type of food can prevent the cat from developing teeth problems such as the accumulation of tartar. The tartar should be kept under close control because its accumulation can lead to severe teeth conditions. It is all about the personal preference of the owner but he has to pay attention to the real needs of his pet. For instance, dry foods may satisfy the pet's needs.

Dry food can also remove the plaque from the kitten's teeth without any fuss. The only thing that the owner should do is to weight the proper amount of dry food. This amount should be put in the kitten's bowl in order to help herself. Dry varieties of food are easy to be stored, clean to use and they also have a longer shelf-life. But there are also cats that prefer the aromas of the wet food; these kittens will be keen on the special texture of the wet food. Single serve pouches have to be provided in order to ensure a fresh and easy meal for your kitten.

Changing the diet can become quite tricky and the owner has to be patient because no dramatic changes are to be made in order not to disturb the fragile metabolism of the newborn kitten. The kitten should be accustomed to a certain type of food when it comes to her first weeks; the owner should stick to the same type of food that was recommended t him. The breeder is the one who usually recommends all the diets unless a health problem occurs. In this case, the owner should ask for the vet's advice in order to prevent the health problem from becoming more severe. This change is quite stressful for the kitten because it is usually accompanied by a home change too. The kitten will have to cope with a new type of food and home; her tummy will be upset too and the owner will have to make this change in a gradual manner during a couple of weeks.

The owner should start by putting some new food in the regular dist; this new food has to be mixed with the usual one and its amount will be increased gradually. The former food will be reduced until the exchange is complete. In time, the kitten will move on to special adult food. Even if a cat will look as fully-grown by the time she reaches 6 months, she is still a kitten when it comes to her inner metabolism. The cat's bones are becoming stronger; her body is filling out. But the owner should not transfer his kitten to adult food that is commercially produced until the cat is 12 months old. The change is to be done in a gradual manner in order to avoid possible stomach upsets. Fresh water is to be provided too. The cow's milk is not good for a kitten because it can upset her tummy. There is one more aspect that the owner should pay attention too: cats, unlike dogs, are obligate carnivores. So, Dog Food may be completely vegetarian but the cat needs to eat meat in order to survive. A cat that is not fed with meat will go blind or suffer debilitating conditions that are likely to threaten her life.
